I booked this room because it was close to the tournament we were attending, the price was better than other hotels right by the tournament and because there was a pool that we could use when not at the tournament. I should have booked elsewhere. The only great experience that we’ve had at this hotel is the woman who checked us in and listened to our concerns…she was awesome (unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name)! When we checked in and got to the room, a dirty washcloth fell from the top of the shower when I pulled the curtain back. And the mini fridge was broken. I called down to the front desk to let them know, and I was told they would have maintenance come up tomorrow morning to either repair or replace the fridge. They did offer to put my medication that needed to be refrigerated in their’s for the night but I had it in a cooler and knew that it would be okay for one night. Fast forward to the next afternoon, the fridge wasn’t repaired or replaced when we came back to the room from the tournament. I went to the front desk to ask about it again and maintenance said that no one had informed them when front desk called them to ask. Okay, no big deal, things happen. She said that someone would be up to fix or replace it after speaking with maintenance. It was finally replaced by the time that we got back to the room again, with another fridge that worked the first night and then died again. I called to ask if maid service (who was down the hall from our room that I initially tried to ask myself but she didn’t speak English) could drop off some fresh towels, washcloths and trash bags to the room and was told that I need to stop at the front desk to get them because “we don’t do housekeeping”. Really? Because you’re website says that daily housekeeping is done. Mind you, I booked our stay from Thursday-Tuesday and not once has anyone been in the room to collect trash, leave clean towels/washcloths, toilet paper, toiletries, nothing. Anything that we’ve needed in that regard, I’ve had to go to the front desk to get myself and we’ve had to sit the trash outside of the room everyday to be collected. Parking is a nightmare if you come in in the evening because they allow multiple people to pay and park flying out from RDU. I’ve seen cars in the evening that have made their own parking spaces because there is no where to park. The pool is broken and not able to be used, one of the reasons that I booked this place. No one told us that at check in, there are no signs about it, etc. Doors slamming all hours of the night and day. The ice machine doesn’t work. Breakfast only goes for an hour or so before they shut it down and it stops much earlier than other places. The final straw was the cockroach that I found in the bathroom at about 4am this morning. If you’re considering booking this...
Read moreI called the reservation line directly Tuesday afternoon because my mother had a flight going out of RDU on Wednesday morning at 5:45 AM. The 1st time I called the girl that answered went through her "thank you for calling" speech (that I could barely understand), and then for some reason,, she stopped and repeated the entire thing again before I had a chance to say anything. I did not want to make a reservation with her because I felt like it may not be done right. So I called back a couple of hours later and told the gentleman I needed a room in Raleigh Durham close to the airport Preferably with shuttle service.. He found a room and quoted me the price of $97 But said they do not offer shuttle service. I told him online everything I had read said they had shuttle service but he said they do not. I said OK thats fine, I just need a room, he then read me back the confirmation and when he did he said we have you staying at the La Quinta in Durham, I verified with him I'm not going to Durham, this is in RALEIGH Durham correct? near RDU airport?? He said yes right near the airport. But, of course when we got to the hotel after driving for 2 hours, they did not have a reservation for me at that location. The gentleman working the front desk was named Damont and he was absolutely wonderful. he got us set up but of course the price went to a $118, so now I would be paying even more to just sleep for about 6 hours.. I did not have much choice So I went ahead and accepted that. I would also be expected tocontact customer service to cancel the reservation they screwed up. We were both absolutely exhausted and just wanted to sleep but then when we got up to the room we couldn't get in because the keys had been programmed wrong so I had to go back downstairs and stand in line again to get the keys programmed (While my exhausted 86 year old mother stood at the room door with our bags by herself). Even after all of this, I was not going to write a bad review or any review at all, I just wasn't ever going to stay at a La Quinta again. But today my mother called me and said she started itching terribly yesterday morning at the airport and said she is covered in bug bites (and sent me pictures) I did not have any issues from my bed, but she definitely had them from hers. We stayed in room 317 and her bed was the one next to the bathroom. I travel frequently and I'm actually a Marriott loyalty member which is where I usually stay but I let relatives talk me into staying at LaQuinta. I definitely won't let that happen again! It was exhausting and definitely NOT how I wanted my mothers last night of her...
Read moreI use to love LQ. Then it was bought out by Wyndham! We stayed here 5/2/19-5/5/19. We were suppose to stay here 5/1-5/5. We arrived at 2:30 am on that Wednesday night. After just driving 8 hours from Atlanta with 2 dogs and baby in tow. I walk into the lobby to be told I can’t check in to the hotel because the system is down. They stated there was no way to see if there was any open rooms or make keys. Mind you we had a reservation made months prior. We go back to to our loaded car. We called the other LQ in town that hung up on us then when we called corporate phone they told us the system would not be back up until 7am. We asked were we could go since there are no other animal friendly hotels in the area and the lady says “I’m sorry I don’t know”. I am in tears at this point but we accepted our fate. This forced my family to have to sleep in our truck over night and go to an event in the morning with no shower or proper sleep. We get back from the event and check in. They then attempted to charge me for Wednesday night. After telling them what happened they did remove Wednesday night. We stayed the rest of our time. Upon check out the manager asked how our stay was I told her how we were forced to sleep in our car because their system was down. All I was offered was a “sincere apology for your inconvenience”. A week later a received a phone call from the hotel. I answered it happily thinking I would get something as compensation for my troubles. The manager then informs me they don’t have my credit card on file. I tell her I gave it to them upon booking the room and upon checking in. She says I’m sorry this is our fault we have your info through your rewards membership. I say “ok” she then says how would you like to settle this matter?” I told her I could give her my card but could I get anything in return for the inconvenience I experienced at your hotel. She stated she had no idea what I was talking about. I told her the above she then stated she could give us 50% off one of the nights. Not wanting to pursue it any further I told the offer. I will be canceling the rest of my reservations with LQ this summer I had 3 more stays! They do not care about their customers or even making things right or making sure your family is taken care of! Also the bed had a huge brown stain on the top cover when we did get to our room. Luckily I brought a...
