I chose this hotel based on the positive reviews I read before booking. I was very disappointed in the overall condition of the property right from check in;
The Well Done’s:
The staff where very friendly and did everything possible to meet our needs. I asked the night desk attendant for an extra blanket and he got up and went and got one for me himself right away. I asked the day desk attendant to borrow a pen, she smiled and handed me one and told me to keep it. Continental breakfast options where nice, they covered all the ranges from cereal, bread and bagels and pre packaged muffins that you could take to go through to the hot options which where eggs, sausage and a waffle maker. Standard beverages such as coffee, tea, water and fruit juices as well as fruit and yogurt options. The outside parking area was clean and ample parking was available for the size of the hotel.
The Need’s Improvement’s:
The outside of the hotel is in good shape other than some basic water staining on the stucco siding in some area’s under the windows but the area is prone to high rain storms. The inside of the hotel was another story. For the most part I felt that the property was clean BUT it is very dated, in rough and worn-out shape and it is time for a remodel. I believe if a brand inspector where to show up and audit the property, they would demand renovations start ASAP or they would out right drop the property from the brand registry. This is based on the following; The hallway carpets are loose and stretched to the point where they are forming “peaks” in the middle of the hall way. The walls have pealing wallpaper and paint chips on the base boards and door frames. The main door handle for my room was loose and dropping towards the floor. Inside the room, the furniture is dated and has scuff marks in multiple places. The bathroom door handle was completely missing the locking mechanism. I spotted what appeared to be dead skin in one place on the room wall.
As I stated before the staff where friendly, they are doing the best with what they have in a dated property. I would rank this hotel in its current state a 1.5 star and mainly becose of how nice the staff where.
I would not stay in the property again until it...
Read moreCanceled our reservation without notifying us, or CLC, it was canceled. We arrived at 7:30 pm, after a long drive. The desk clerk couldn't advise why it was canceled. My husband called CLC (Corporate Lodging - the company uses this for field employees overnight stays) but CLC couldn't do anything. At this point both Google maps and the hotels website said there were rooms available. (We found out Biden was flying in, and his synchofants were trying to get rooms. Since they were paying full price the hotel decided not to honor the CLC reservations). The desk clerk didn't offer any help to find another hotel that had rooms, and thank goodness we were familiar with the area and knew another hotel was close. We secured a room there. The next day we had to stop by Country Inn and Suites, and my husband was able to talk to the manager. The manager stated that the hotel had overbooked the hotel with CLC reservations, and they had to cancel all of the CLC reservations. Before you book a room at this hotel, make sure you have a backup plan. Then, and only then, if you still want to use Country Inn and Suites, go for it. However - My family and I will not reserve a room in this hotel ever again! Update - 5/24/25 A year later management decided to answer my review. They "suggest guests have a backup reservation" which I find incredulous since, if you have another reservation and don't cancel 24 hours in advance, you are charged for it. So, not only does the management want us to spend more money for nothing. We were, as I noted, traveling for business, and when we arrive, we've already put in a full day of work. Looking at their prices now, it's evident this review is just the tip of the iceberg of problems at this place. If you're in this area, I still recommend Sonesta Select, (I am not an employee of either hotel, and have not, and will not, receive any compensation for my review). Sonesta is also a little dated, but we've NEVER had an...
Read moreRun as far away as you can from this hotel because this is a stinky smelly garbage can that just wants to cheat you; we could not even breathe when we entered the room that had a broken light switch and a smell of pee and faeces in there and they would not honor our Free cancellation that had been confirmed verbally the day before based on similar concerns from recent reviews. They went back on their word with us, with Delta Air Stays and charged us for the stay even though we could not step inside for more than two minutes! We are reporting this hotel to the County Health Inspector and all compliance bodies. Lack of sanitation, lack of integrity and total cheats who most likely bought their reviews online and are living off of keeping customer monies that they keep even when they cannot provide the stay! RUN! Do not book; they will not honor your Free Cancellation either. We spent the next two days at two different wonderful nearby Hotels: Delta by Hilton and Holiday Inn just 5 min from there. We had to shuttle from hotel to hotel due to last minute urgency caused by this garbage can of a hotel. Reach out to me directly via Google if you need details. Please, please force them to fix this by not booking; what they are doing is beyond wrong! And we had flown 14 hours from the west coast; we did not deserve it. And they confirmed nicely that they will issue full refund if we have a problem, just the day before! Just so we would not cancel....
