We arrived on 6/17/19 and I thought you had a waterfall in the lobby, only to find out you had a leak. The first room smelled like mildew and I was moved to another room that I had to call the front desk because there was blood on the comforter they changed the comforter to a clean one. Get woke up at 1:30 in the morning because of fire alarm going off because another pipe burst. Wednesday out to see the site's get back to find out they evacuated everyone because pipes burst from the 4th floor to the lobby and we have no place else to go so we tough it out with no water. The staff went to the store to get us big bottles of water to flush the toilet. Friday decide to hang out at the pool because we finally got a day of no rain and I go back to the room to order pizza for us and the staff only to find out that I am robbed of my Diamond ring and my granddaughters ring and the housekeeper who stole it has it in her female area after 5 hours of being with police officers and detectives our entire time was ruined. I woke up at 2 am shaking and afraid and I left to get home needless to say it took me until Wednesday to stop having bad dreams. They did comp our rooms but they need to drug screen these employees because she also had a vile of illegal drugs in her vagina and I can't even look at my ring for the memory of where it was and I should remember that my husband gave it to me for Christmas and asked me to remarry him after 40 years of marriage. I wrote a review 2 days ago on their website and they have not posted it. I did get an email from the owner apology for the experience but I think people should be aware of this and be very...
Read moreThe room we stayed in was nice. The breakfast was good. However, up on our arrival we were told that all of the televisions were out in the building service, I suppose. They offered no discounts because we had no entertainment for the evening only to cancel our reservation and leave us without a place to stay. That was disappointing. Then we had great difficulty getting into our room because the room keys wouldn't work right. We finally, after coming down and getting keys redone three times, had somebody come up and let us in and noticed someone just down the hall from us was doing the same because they couldn't get in their room either. The people at the front desk told us that they're getting ready to switch over all the room locks and keys system so maybe that will improve. But then after we got in our room with no TV to watch, someone kept trying to get in our room only to discover they had sent a man and his son to the same room that my mother-in-law and I were staying in. I immediately called the front desk and told them they'd sent someone else into our room. They said they would make it right because I thought I should get some kind of an accommodation for such a scary inconvenience. Yet again. When the bill came in the morning it was the same as it had always been even though there'd been no TV and they sent someone else into my room during the night. When I went down for breakfast the person on duty adjusted a 15% discount for my inconveniences, which I'm sure is the very least they could do. The hotel was very nice but I was very disappointed with...
Read moreI've always had good experiences with Holiday Inn Express, and their Caryville hotel is no exception. My room was delightful - spacious, sunny, and spotlessly clean, with quiet neighbors. It was stocked with all of the expected amenities, such as a large TV, a refrigerator and microwave, a Keurig coffee maker, a hair dryer and an iron. I didn't bring shaving cream, so the friendly folks at the desk gave me a complimentary can. Their wifi is top-notch - my computer connected without having to fiddle with passwords, and it worked flawlessly.
The complimentary breakfast is great, featuring pancakes, scrambled eggs, several types of sausage, cheese omelettes, bagels and toast, ripe bananas, cereal, fresh coffee and orange juice. I love the pancake machine that most Holiday Inns have! When I pressed the button for pancakes, I got an error message, which I brought to the attention of one of the servers. She fixed it and brought me a plate of pancakes a couple of minutes later.
The only thing out of place was the computer in the lobby, which I needed to print my airline boarding pass. Someone had turned it on, but it needed more attention to be fully functional. Being something of a computer whiz, I fixed it myself. But I'm sure the staff at the front desk would have done it for anyone who brought the problem to their attention.
Caryville is a small town, so it was especially good to find a top-notch hotel here. The rates are reasonable, the staff is professional and eager to please, and it's an attractive, comfortable place to stay. I'll...
