Just a bit disappointed because the gentleman I first spoke to sold me a dream, so I took the highest price offered. I called before arriving to confirm, and I wanted to do my final payment to make everything easy. That turned out to be a confusing conversation to begin with, which wasn't a big deal to me because I am very understanding and the young lady said she would get it corrected the mistakes that were made, so I thought everything was squared away when I was called back and told my final amount based on the information I gave which I was very specific.
Nope, when I got there, I was told there were charges I wasn't charged, so I paid which I was very specific since my first call and didn't have this issue in any of the other sites. So then ok I thought thats it.
Nope! There is no caution sign for people when they come in the evening with a truck to watch the key pad where the key card goes in its so sharp that since we couldn't do the keypad through the window that it dented our door when opened since it swung out a bit more than expected but we didn't know that the edges were sharp to make sure to quick stop door or park completely far away from it and that keypad its not as easy if never used ( just be caution and back up and then come out your car! The edges are so sharp on the key pad that it dented and ripped a little paint off our brand new truck). There was someone behind us on the other side, and he told us that is the reason he parks so far because it happened to him also. We asked him for assistance to use the keypad because that was confusing.,When I informed them I was told that has never been brought up I suggested they should put a caution sign because if it happens to someone else that is not reasonable they might not be so nice about it.
Then, to top it off, I was supposed to be getting 25 dollars back for the key card because they charge you for it and refund after drop off. Well, I got charged additional fees that apparently I wasn't charged. I just let them take it because at this point, I am just not coming again, and I just wanted to get on to my next site. I should've just picked the cheapest spot, and that's it. I paid the highest one with view of the river and jacuzzi which I only used once so that was dumb on my part because I just was sold on the phone everything great about this place but the disappointments made me regret picking that. Yes the view is nice but in my honest opinion with all of the headaches a cheap one would've been better off and maybe not bothered as much but since I paid for the highest one, that's what made it even more disappointing. Felt like a...
Read moreThe cottages were nicer than I expected. They are absolutely beautiful, well kept and furnished with everything we needed. I was highly impressed and loved the layout for a small two story cottage.. The lady at the desk was so nice and booked me on a last minute call. The only mistake is that we asked to be directly on the water and facing the water. We asked to move immediately before unpacking once we saw where we were located and they said all three facing the water were booked, but no one showed up to any of them. Our hot tub was a cold tub and the maintenance man confirmed that it needed repairing the next morning. The spa was the only reason we changed from getting a cabin which was our original choice. I wish I would have gotten the maintenance man's name (a Spanish guy) that truly deserves a raise. He went out of his way to let us look inside the 3 cabins (that no one was in) and by him doing this we will return and give it a second chance. The first desk lady (skinny blond lady..I should have gotten her name) was awesome and incredibly helpful. We dont understand why the second elderly lady said all the cabins were booked when no one showed up to all three. We justified fairly that maybe they were not clean or stacked with towels. When we got to view them the next morning they were ready for quests. So we justified again that maybe someone was coming in on Sunday evening and a maid couldn't clean up after we left. It did bother us along with the cold spa and we had discerned that we probably wouldn't return. However the maintenance man saved the day, by taking from his time to look at our broke spa (which I'm sure will get fixed before more guests complain) and he showed us the 3 buildings directly on the water which sold us to come back. That's customer service and how to get...
Read moreAs the previous reviewer noted, the "resort" did not exactly live up to its name, although it is certainly a decent RV park. We stayed two nights here to meet up with a friend in the Houston area, and chose this park because we would be heading north at the end of our visit and didn't want to go any further into the city to stay. ||||The park has two pools, one for children and one for adults, which is nice, and also has a spot along the river where you can fish should you so desire. The office (which was staffed by two very nice ladies when we visited) also has a small store typical of many RV parks. Also typical of many RV parks was the free wifi, which was essentially unusable, so we had to rely on our cell phone for data connectivity. It also has an access controlled gate that's closed at night; to use it, the access card is $25, which is fully refunded when you turn the card in when you leave. ||||The sites were quite nice, with long concrete pads with room set aside to park a vehicle, and sufficiently wide that you didn't feel like you were crowding your neighbors. The roads were nicely paved and easy to navigate.||||However, it was clear this was not a resort, but more of a long-term haven for folks working in the local area. That's not a bad thing in and of itself, and the park management hasn't allowed anyone (that we saw, at least) let their site go to pot like some parks do, but it does have a different character than more typical RV resorts (which also generally have more in the way of amenities).||||Bottom line: I would certainly recommend this park as a place to stay for a visit to the San Jacinto/eastern Houston metro area for a few days if it's in a convenient location for the places you want to visit. But I wouldn't go out of my way because it's billed...
