This place is an absolute gem! In from out of town and came here on a whim about an hour before close. Immediately walking up you feel like family, Victor, the owner, offered us samples of the fajita, pastor, chicken and chicharrón to make sure we enjoyed the taste before ordering anything. All four were a knockout. He then took us through what and how he served his food. We got a torta his recommended way and a burrito with chicharron + pastor. He also gave us samples of the horchata and cantaloupe drink in case we wanted to get one (we got the horchata, this stuff is literal liquid gold).

Read moreLiving in Baytown there aren't many authentic Mexican restaurants or taco trucks in the area. We googled around the area and decided to try Texas Tacos in Highlands. I must say its a hidden little gem. We passed it up the first time but sure glad we found it. Cute lil cozy spot, food was really good. The owner was super friendly, even sat with us asked if it was our first time and told us a little about the business. I was sad to hear at this time they are only opened Sat/Sun but we def will be hitting this...

Furthermore, I found Victor to be a highly engaging conversationalist.
I extend my sincere appreciation for Victor's kindness and wish him and his business...
