My husband called in Monday April 4th, 2016 inquiring about lots, was told they had plenty, and they did. Was also told their lots are 20'x70' and we were completely excited as we have a 25' travel trailer and a 16' cargo trailer and the RV Park we came from up in Denton was about the same size which allowed us to have both trailers together as well as room for both of our vehicles. My husband drives down there today and the spots are NOT 20x70.......they are in fact 18'x35', and the 18' width is from sewer connection to sewer connection. So in reality you don't even have 18'. We don't even have enough room to put the canopy out. Needless to say we will be moving elsewhere tomorrow and the 2 other friends of ours that was going to be getting their own spots will now take their business elsewhere.
We understand that places are not able to always accommodate our needs, however they have been up front with us over the phone in telling us. They don't lie to us and let us drive over 6 hours to their location in order to find out that they lied to us. My husband has been told by residents their that the owners are extremely nice but it is the manager who is a witch and in no way easy to deal with.
We travel for my husband's job and we always to try recommend places that we have gone that were accommodating because such places are a jewel to be treasured and shared. This is not such a place, it is a bummer but we learned a valuable lesson today, always have a back up or 2 in case of...
Read moreMy family, and I have been to other RV parks, but by far have found Highlands RV to be a hidden jewel. The owner keeps the place in prestin condition. It has free wifi, a laundry mat, and restrooms better kept than at an Loves Travel Stop. It is very safe with as a gated community, and most of the neighbors know each other as repeated visitors and residents. The owners will do everything possible and within reason to ensure that your stay is a pleasant one. My family loved this place so much that we decided to stay two years while having our new home built. Given that the location is 11 miles from the beach, and 25 minutes from downtown Houston; it is the perfect spot to get the best of both worlds. There are so many places close to this area for shopping, fishing, and having great nightlife experiences. If there was ais her rating I would give it one. The price is the most impressive thing about the place considering all that you are getting. I recommend this place for anyone looking for somewhere to park longterm or for a...
Read moreRoads are a mess with HUGE potholes that stay full of nasty water and mud. You cannot drive in without your vehicle getting filthy. There are a lot of old, rundown RVs and the area is sketchy. There is also a train right across the road that you can hear every hour or so. The gate requires a code which is nice, but it is poorly placed so your truck sticks out onto a busy road while you enter the code and wait for the gate to open. The spots are very close together and they are also really sloppy and fill up quickly with mud. There is hardly any grass so if you have a dog, they will not have anywhere to do their business. We intended to stay for a month but left...
