Buffalo Lodge — Hotel in Chugwater

I checked in very late on Sunday April 8 after a long day of driving. The 2 owners were super drunk. The woman said she gave me a discount because the tv may or may not work due to a windstorm that just came through. she indicated some rooms may have working tvs, but didn't offer any of those. the empty rooms have the doors open. There was a local there in a Huskers hat that was also drunk, rude & obnoxious! My son & I were exhausted so we just went to our room. I found the room to be gross. I think the furniture, mattress & pillows are all 20+ years old. When I got up to shower in the morning, there was no hot water in the shower, but the sink in the room had very hot water. I walked my son down to the free breakfast, which was a mini fridge of yogurt and bagels. we made him a bagel and cream cheese, which he said was disgusting & tasted really old, so he didn't eat it. A couple days later, I called the owner and explained all of this. I also told her that we stayed at a beautiful Marriott in Colorado Springs & a really nice Super 8 in Rapid City, both for less than her $65 discounted rate. She said, she just bought the bagels & was shocked because they keep their rooms very clean... They are not, check the corners. gross. Paint was peeling off the walls in the bathroom. She told me their showers are opposite, so hot water is opposite than normal & I should have woke her up. We were in a hurry to get out of that place. Nobody was awake when we left around 930am. I told her I wasn't happy with the price I paid for the experience we had. She finally asked me what I wanted & I told her that she could decide what is fair. We did stay there and owe something. She said she was leaving out of town for a couple days before busy season and would call me in a couple days. That was April 10th. Today is April 23rd and I still haven't heard from her. I would have been happy with a $10 discount. Something just to show they tried to make this right. Instead I got a commitment for call back that I never received. This place is a drunken dump! I had the pleasure of staying here due to bad weather. I was on my motorcycle traveling to the Sturgis rally in Sturgis South Dakota, when I encountered heavy rain on I 25 in Chugwater, Wyoming. I pulled off into a rest area and got myself dried off and changed my clothes. As soon as the rain let up, I got going again, but with wet grass and mud, I dropped my bike. With some help I was able to get it upright and got going. It was near the end of the day, I went on Yelp and looked for someplace close to spend the night. As it turned out, Buffalo Lodge was just around the corner from where I was at! I called and asked if they had a vacancy. I mentioned to them that I was on a motorcycle and it had been a tough day. When I arrived it was as if they were waiting for me! The room they had for me was quiet, nicely furnished, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. All at a great rate! I was so glad I made the decision to get off the Highway! After a great nights sleep I went to the lobby where there was fresh Coffee, Honey buns, and Individual pastry Danish. They also have Yogurt, Cereal, and Juice. I went outside to check on my motorcycle. Wipe it down, and assess any damage from dropping it the night before. All good. This owner of this place or the lady running it was rude so RUDE AND IGNORANT. We SAID WE wouldn't be there tell late that night. She said well I am going to be asleep so. I will leave door open an the key on the desk. Then we asked to stay later sence were getting in late so can we get a late check out. Well check out is 10 but 11 I guess it going to be an inconvenience though For us. Well we got there not even maybe 3 or 4 cars there and the room that we're not rented they have the door open. And there was blood all over front side walk. Also we get up in the morning the owner lady said he that was an inconvenience for us you know so we can get room ready. Well they didn't have even 1/4 of the hotel rented out. But we were an inconvenience for her. Well I wouldn't recommend this place to no one. I would tell you to pass it or go back to a different town to get a Hotel. Other wise you will be an inconvenience for them!!!!!! AND IT WAS SMELLY AND DIRTY SUPER GROSS INSIDE AND OUT YUCK !!!! 😡😡😡😡 Ya by the way...
