I'm not sure where to begin as to the "best" part of this stay, because so much of the Swann Inn is delightful AND It is truly all because of the owners Neil & Darlene - the charm, convenience and quality of the Inn is 100% because of their restoration, detail, fun & love they put into this place. They restored this historic house completely - every room has its own charm (particularly love the Blue room & its stunning bathroom), the breakfasts are amazing (sitting in the window table watching hummingbirds drink from the vines of flowers outside the window), and the garden in the yard is breathtaking (Darlene tends to it daily) with black-eyed Susans, trellises of roses and vines and little seating areas throughout, which we enjoyed for an early morning meditation, afternoon snack, and at night to listen to the tree crickets & watch the stars. Their attention to detail inside the Inn is impressive, with the 24-hr snack station, beautiful tea cups, accessories in every room (jewelry holders, remote candles, soaps, Epsom salts for the tubs, etc), beautiful linens, super clean, perfect temperature AND with the location only about 2 blocks walk to the Beacon Mountain trailhead, makes the stay an absolute joy! On top of all that the price for this beautiful, charming stay cannot be beat - the value for what you get is incredible! The bonus is that the owners are also behind the restoration of Bannerman Castle & Bannerman Island as well as the special programming for all events there. They are a wealth of knowledge of the area and just lovely to engage with while there. This little Inn is a GEM!! It is also very quiet, close to town & the train, but just out of the way enough so it feels like a perfect, quiet oasis nestled at the base of Beacon Mountain & all its natural beauty! Perfect getaway out of the city for a couple of days in nature (or even a week)! LOVE this place...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to take one night out for ourselves and wanted to spend the night at a local bed and breakfast. We had such an relaxing and wonderful time at the Swann Inn. We arrived when the weather was terribly cold (in the single digits). Our room was the "blue room", and arrived to a warm bedroom and bathroom. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and my favorite part of the room was the lion claw bathtub! The bathtub fits two adults comfortably. There was bubble bath soap and epsom salts provided. The couple that own's this bed and breakfast are so kind and make one AMAZING breakfast. We were served a homemade pina colada sorbet, fresh fruit, shortbread cookie, and a cinnamon orange French toast. The details they put into the breakfast was beautiful and delicious. I love how the owners even kept to the swan theme during breakfast by providing butter in the shape of a swan and will wrap your leftover breakfast in the shape of a swan 🦢. I also appreciated the room we were given to enjoy our breakfast. The atmosphere captured a victorian style theme. I loved the coffee/tea station and food that they provided in the downstairs area, a huge bonus it's open at all hours! My husband and I have already set up plans to visit again in the spring and hope to stay for two days at our next stay! Any locals or travelers, you will be elated with your decision to stay at...
Read moreWe really enjoyed staying overnight at this inn. We were looking for something overnight to celebrate my birthday at the end of March and this was perfect. We were able to book 2 days before we came. It was only about 2 hours from home for us and it is very easily accessible off of 84 and close to the train station. The owners called us to let us know when they would be home for check in. It is very close to the main street in Beacon with shops and restaurants and also less than 1 minute from Mount beacon trail parking. When we checked in, he showed us everything in the room and the snack and coffee station. There were so many snacks, Teas, coffee, and even a soda stream. Our room was beautiful and quiet and there were items in the bathroom like soap and shampoo. The bed was extremely comfortable; literally the best bed on which I have ever slept. The television had roku which was nice. We were given a choice of breakfast time which was thoughtful and delicious. The decor in the inn is very victorian and beautiful. We got to relax until checkout at 11 and then spent the day exploring Beacon, walk over Hudson bridge, Poughkeepsie, and walked on the Beacon mountain trail. The owners were very grateful and polite and we were already planning our return trip before...
