Of all the wonderful things Beacon has to offer, I will miss Durkins the most when I move to Poughkeepsie. It's not the amazing bars, restaurants, matcha/coffee shops-- it's this magical one-stop-shop, opens early/closes late, friendly neighborhood convenience store. I've lived across the street for 3 yrs and have seen many different faces behind the counter-all of whom have been helpful and friendly. Great selection of beverages, snacks, household items, etc. They've saved me countless times late night when I needed a snack, ran out of paper towels, was sick and needed cold medicine, or my guest forgot their toothbrush.
