I spent a nice chunk of change at this hotel over the past couple of years, visiting almost monthly. I am an avid Holiday Inn traveler and was a bit concerned when they switched to Choice brands as I've had some pretty poor experiences at some. All was going swell. Recently, while staying here, I like to walk in the evening and was walking around the hotel building to get my routine exercise while on the phone with my partner, where I came across a what appeared to be drunk woman who asked me if I had seen her wallet. I said no. She shared she was afraid, and her husband would abuse her for this loss. I empathized and shared concern for her loss and situation; and then went to the front desk to share my strange encounter. The front desk told me she was staying there, harmless and that they knew who she was. Later that evening, I get a call to my room to come downstairs and speak to the police as they (hotel security) stated they shared with the police that it appeared I was the only person outside they could see on their camera system, and they had questions. All good! I had absolutely nothing to do with his woman's loss and am an executive for God's sake, not a crook. I get paid nicely and surely do not need to steal a poor woman's wallet for money. Just saying for point only. The policeman told me that I should stay in a better hotel and part of town and this hotel (and a couple other Choice hotels nearby) contracted with the state to allow housing for displaced, in program addicts and offenders and that this is probably the result of this person I had the unjust encounter with.
What bothered me is that as somebody who has spent many days, dollars and patronage to this hotel, the owners, front desk and even maintenance man that sees me always there, never stepped forward to aid me. They just stood there behind the front desk and stared at me with the policeman as if they really believed I was a crook. How horrible that felt to me as I always have enjoyed this team. I thought they were amazing people. Lik family to me, many of them.
I'm not too sure this is the best place to stay anymore with the added element of residency they've begun to meld with their unsuspecting and trusting clients that stay occasionally or even as I did, regularly.
I truly miss staying here as it was in close proximity to all of my work locations, has friendly staff and a great bar and restaurant. I know most by name and loved that. Always had good service prior. But after this occurrence and they putting a greater emphasis on the state funded residents over me whose given them quite a bit of business and loyalty, I'm frankly mad. And, I do question the safety of guests based on what I encountered and see living in some of those rooms.

Read moreMy husband and I stayed here recently when we came to the area. We were traveling with a pet (our elderly cat) and noticed her food dish crawling with ants. I looked and there were so many ants, a trail of them going from at least in front of the desk to under the little stool on the other side of the dresser. We had to throw our cats food away. We also, ran out of tissues and noticed there wasn't much toilet paper left. I called the front desk and told them about the ants, and that needed more tissues and could use another roll of toilet paper. The woman at the desk said "we will send someone to clean the ants" we waited quite a while and no one came. My husband called the front desk back and told them the situation again and again they said "we will send someone too clean up the ants". They never came so when we checked out the next day again I told the woman at the desk about what happened. She told me that "it's a shame that now you're checking out, if you would have let us know before we could have cleaned up the ants or moved you to another room". I said "we called twice and we were told someone was coming to clean the room both times but no one ever came". She said "oh I'm so sorry, I'll let the general manager know". Seriously, for the amount we had to pay to stay four nights and they couldn't come clean up some ants or move us to another room? Then they tried to act like they had no idea? Also, on a side not when we got in our room there was garbage in one of the garbage cans from the previous guest. We should have been offered some of our money back upon checking out considering and they did nothing. We will never stay there again and we have family in the area so we cone there often. This experience costed the company a lot of...
Read moreThe lady at the check in desk when we got there that evening was great! Super nice and accommodating. There was also a very nice gentleman the day we checked out who was great. The lady there during the day most days we were there was not great. She was sitting on the couch on her phone when we came in to get towels then walked to the back to get them and came back to the front and said that they were sitting right there at the front and that she just wasn’t paying attention. Our room was comfortable as far as climate! The AC worked great! The sheets and bathroom were clean! The floors on the other hand were not. The carpet had not been vacuumed and there was milk left in the fridge so it had not been cleaned out. The sweet front desk lady came up and vacuumed the room for us and took the milk. The chair at the desk was filthy as well as the halls of the hotel. There were things spilled on the tile coming out of the elevator that had been there the entire week we were there. Other reviews talked about sketchy people hanging around outside, which we did see, but never had any issues. The great front desk lady told me they knew there were some things they needed to do better at but they tried to make up for those in customer service, which I appreciated. Though the price was great, the pros did not outweigh the cons and we wouldn’t stay here again. It’s unfortunate that the Choice Hotels chains have gone down so significantly. This isn’t my first negative experience with...
