The price-quality relationship is unbeatable: I've visited several hotels in the U.S., and undoubtedly, this has probably been the most memorable. We visited Ogdensburg just because we saw this interesting accommodation, and at every point, we were surprised. We thought that visiting and staying in a hotel that was previously a school was a great idea, but we found that there was much more that made this place special. As soon as we entered, we noticed the adorable Christmas decorations that were in every space of the school. Jim greeted us with a big smile and asked if we wanted him to give us a guided tour of the place or just show us the room. I couldn't resist the history, and Jim enthusiastically showed us around, adding historical facts about the school and Ogdensburg. It was truly interesting, and I don't think there are more suitable people to bring this hotel to life than them. What better than to sleep in a hotel that was a school with people so passionate about the history and the place it's located? I couldn't ask for more. On the second floor, they have a well-equipped kitchen available for Sherman Inn visitors. And of course, we used it! It made our stay comfortable as if we were at home. Breakfast was delicious, and we shared with other guests, each friendlier than the last. The owners were there to attend to us, and they were truly available for any questions. I am so pleased with the experience that I have already booked my next stay at Sherman Inn

My husband and I spent a weekend at the Sherman Inn. It's a beautiful old school, turned into a lovely B & B. They kept the school theme, which is part of the fun and charm. The rooms are huge. Our room had 2 queen sized beds, comfy couch, 2 recliners, dining table for 6and of course the bathroom. Oh and a mini fridge. There is a bigger full kitchen for all the guests to use on the second floor. The inn is not on the river, but you are so close to it, it takes no time at all to get to it. We didn't find this to be an issue. They have a wonderful courtyard in front. Pool on one side, with places to to relax, and a social area on the other side with table and chairs. A weekend just wasn't enough time to explore the inn or all the places we wanted to visit. We will be back.

Fabulous Experience in EVERY Way! Beautiful Decor! Delicious Breakfast! Friendly Hosts!

We were guests at the Sherman Inn, as we were attending our sons' hockey tournament in Ogdensburg. My friend and I, who are teachers, decided that we would stay at this B & B to turn what can be a long hockey weekend, into a pleasant getaway for the moms as well. So, while husbands stayed at home, we had hockey duty with our boys.

What a wonderful idea to turn this old school into a B & B! The owners have gone out of their way to make the decor as special and as comfortable as possible, while keeping the old school charm. For example, there were several books that we enjoyed looking through that were period to the school. Original chalk boards were left untouched, as well as some of the furniture original to the building.

We stayed in the blue room. This room was huge! The furniture and bed was super comfortable and all areas of the room were clean and tidy. There was even a kitchen across from our room, stocked with everything we would need, to turn the food we purchased into a healthy meal for our kids.

John and Carlos were very friendly and a "fountain of information" about the school and its transformation, the local area, and even hockey. John engaged our boys in conversation about their hockey games, as he also grew up in a "hockey family." John also, on many occasions assisted us with heavy hockey bags, to our room, and later, out to our vehicle.

The breakfast was spectacular! All of us enjoyed banana stuffed french toast with fresh berry compote, whipped cream, real maple syrup, and sausage. Orange juice was also included and the coffee was prepared just the way we like it. Our boys placed their fabric napkins on their laps and we could tell they felt special to have this incredible breakfast with their moms.

These are clearly owners that want their guests to enjoy their experiences as much as possible, and boy; we did! I was a bit worried about writing this review, as maybe the next time we are in town, John and Carlos will be booked. Surely, word will continue to get around about how great this B & B is! However, this review is well-deserved and I will cross my fingers that a room will be available the next time we are in town, because, we...

My one night stay at The Sherman Inn was very enjoyable! Donna gave me a very inviting greeting and exlplained the amenities. Jim gave an interesting tour and explanation of the building itself and the presidents that had traveled through Ogdensburg, NY. Jim is an expert on local history, which I appreciated when I had a few questions. The huge historic rooms, themed around 5 different presidents were CLEAN and absolutely gorgeous with vintage decor. The added attraction were the many beautiful Christmas trees and other unique decorations. There is a small refrigerator in every room, private bathrooms with big white fluffy towels and very comfortable beds. There are common rooms in the inn that are all unique with their decor. The gym has a stage where there is a large variety of toys! Even a rainy day in Ogdensburg would be fun for children at The Sherman Inn. There is also a common area which had a full sized kitchen if you are interested in cooking meals. Outside, the front yard is beautifully fenced in with wrought iron, an in ground pool, seating, and a firepit for your summertime enjoyment. The complimentary breakfast was magnificent! The bacon was not like any I had ever tasted. The French toast was amazing with real maple syrup and a variety of fruit on the plate. I met a lovely family that was staying for the week, that comes every year! I grew up in the area and was absolutely amazed at how the Reagans had remodeled a school and turned it into a beautiful Inn. Congratulations on creating this unique opportunity for families at a...
