The Old Library Inn is beautiful. My daughter and I stayed there. We were the Inn's only guest at the time, since the last guest(a regular)checked out the day we were checking in. ||||The Library Inn has the charm, comfort and appeal of"old world wealth," with modern amenities.||||The rooms are spacious. The bed is so cozy, plush and comfortable that sleep itself is pleased.||||The bathroom has the old style pink tiles on the walls, the old faucet, knobs and sink. Stepping into the bathroom was,for me, a literal mental step back into time. I, imagined living the life of those passed. Bathing in the old deep tub as they had done. Being as wealthy as they had been.||||Reality did not interrupt my imagination as I traveled down the wooden steps, sliding my right hand down the elegantly repurposed tree, called a banister, leading me to the dining room with a table nearly as long as the room it was set in.||||There, I dined in all this splendor with the pleasantries of the beautiful women...
Read moreI decided to take my teen girls to a mini getaway since Covid has shut so much down. We wanted to do some outdoor hiking. Picked Olean (1.5 hrs away from us) because there are several things to do in a close distance outdoors. Found this gem of a place to stay. The Old Library Inn is stunning! Much of the place has been renovated so the photos you see online don’t do it justice. I took photos with my phone & something wonky happened & I lost several of my photos. But trust me, so lovely. The owner Dan was incredible nice & helpful. We ate dinner at the restaurant next door which is part of the same place. Food was very reasonably priced & excellent! And their specialty drinks were just lovely! Breakfast was made by Lois. She knew exactly what she was doing. Had their special both mornings we were there. My girls enjoyed the place too. So much better than some basic motel/hotel. I’m already thinking of another trip out there just to stay at this adorable...
Read moreMy husband and I spent our 1st wedding anniversary at the Old Library Inn. We stayed in the lovely Tolkien Room. As avid readers, we loved the author themed rooms and literary quotes decorating the walls. The historic building is beautifully decorated and maintained. The first floor that houses the dining room and sitting room is charming. The rooms are private and comfortable. The dining staff is able to accommodate special diets (like gluten free) and the hosts are friendly and welcoming. We also ate at the Old Library Restaurant next door, which is a library that has been converted into an Art Deco style restaurant and bar. Great atmosphere....
