Union Whiskey — Restaurant in City of Olean

Today was my birthday and my friends and I just wanted to go someplace for a lite bite and drink Unfortunately it was after 8 pm; most restaurants are closed, so we entered this late open bar for some food. Very crowded at the bar so we grabbed a table five feet away from the band stage area. I guess we just didn't understand how to order something to eat or drink at this place. Are we suppose to walk up to the "kitchen" wall to order?? Do we squeeze ourselves in between the bar people to order drinks?? We will never know. if you’re vegetarian, adjust your expectations accordingly. i first heard about this place because it was a whiskey bar with impressive vegetarian & vegan options. they really pared these back some time around 2019.

now i’m in town because i have family in the hospital nearby. i came here because they have a beyond burger. i got it to go. i cant swear that its actually a beyond burger; usually, beyond burger patties are juicy with a distinct taste. this is an impressively dry grainy patty.

Went for drinks and found service here was poor. Tuesday evening not very busy but bartender took 15 minutes before he even aknowledged we were there. Gentleman next to us asked for pretzles, was told yes, then never got them. He finished his drink before the staff even tried. When it came time to cash out, the waitress saw me and didnt bother to tell the bartender, whom she was standing next to. I had to pull his attention away from his phone to pay my tab.
