Well a friend and I just tried Century Manor. Nothing went right. I ordered a steak with 2 of the listed (key words)steak toppings. Gorgonzola and carmelized onions. Our waitress took our orders and came back quite a few times to clarify things. Ok maybe she’s new. She then says she will bring my friends soup. No mention of my shrimp so I had to remind her I ordered shrimp as an appetizer. Then the steak comes and there’s no toppings. So I said something. She leaves without taking my steak and heads back to the kitchen. My friend and I each said.. why didn’t she take your steak with her? That’s not what you do. You take the steak back to the kitchen where its either heated and topped or a new steak is grilled and the toppings added. Mean while my steak is getting cold so I picked up my plate and went to the kitchen area where I was met by a number of waitresses asking what was wrong. I explained he needed my steak to properly serve it with the Gorgonzola and onions on top. Their answer was he was putting it in a bowl and would bring it out. Um .. no my steak is getting cold and toppings don’t come out in a bowl. A few minutes later here comes the chef with my steak properly topped. He looks at me and asks if that’s how it should look. It’s your menu. I ordered toppings. Where else would they go but on top of the steak. Fast forward I ate my dinner and now we get coffee and dessert. Dessert was fine and they gave it to us as a courtesy for the issues. And here’s the icing on the cake. I take 2 sugar packets and try to tear them open. They wouldn’t open. So I pull them apart and there was a big blue wad of gum stuck between the packets. That’s disgusting. I’m sure the staff did not do that but none the less it was nasty and finished off a bad experience.
I know they are new but staff should shadow if they aren’t ready. Everyone should know the menu and how to properly take care of mistakes in a professional manor.
To be fair after the issue many came over to ask if everything was ok. I just didn’t enjoy the time...
Read moreWow, well what a difference between eating in & ordering out! Needless to say, we will never get another to go order!! Placed an order for 4 people, so not a cheap order. It started with 2 Large Caesar salads w/blacken chicken, these salad were less than a side salad w/chicken thrown on top, we actually measured 4 tlbs of lettuce! Boneless wings were all little end pieces, nothing like what is served while dining. ok, so now let's mention the "Homemade spinach Alfredo with "Homemade fettuccine noodles"!! NOT tonight! I was told you could have a choice of noodles, which I specified fettuccine & also asked for extra Alfredo sauce! & I do not care if you charge me extra! Just add the sauce in a side dish. The pasta wasn't what was ordered, seem boxed fettuccine noodles & spinach not cooked into sauce, just layed in box, and sauce?? What sauce as you can see... So disappointed in this order tonight!! We have been at this establishment numerous times & dined in, everytime it has been wonderful & I can add,,, I tip very very well!! Also, I have been telling friends to go and try the new owners out. Well someone certainly needs to get their to go orders servings the same as inhouse.. Whether this is in the kitchen or staff, you better have a meeting of the minds. Or this will go down hill quick.... Sorry for the bad review, but when we spend that kind of money for to-go order, we expect the same as if we were dining in, as you would... well now I see, I can't add...
Read moreI’m not one to review restaurants publicly, but after tonights dining experiences Its time.
The Century Manor Grillhouse absolutely killed it with the return of Seafood Thursday. When I tell you this was the best seafood dinner I’ve had outside of visiting an ocean front seafood restaurant, I am in no way exaggerating (and any restaurant that offers seafood within an hour and a half ive tried). 100% recommend giving it a try if you enjoy seafood.
Secondly, if you have any food allergies this place is the place for you. My fiancée is dairy free and every time we visit they are very accommodating and not once have they had a diary slip up happen. (If you’re dairy free you know how difficult that is to find) this has made The Century Manor our go to restaurant over the past several months. If you’re visiting any other evening i highly recommend the Bourbon Street...
