I just want to say I’m very disappointed with the Marriott Company. My family has been staying at Marriott for many years any time for business or pleasure. My mother member and I is also member as well who I joined last year but after this I am no longer don’t wanted to be anything affiliated with this company. I made a reservation online back in early July for August 14-16 every year my family and I like to do a huge celebration to celebrate all the family members who were born in August so this year we made a reservation at the Marriott Residence Inn hotel in Westchester County. So last weekend on Friday around 2:45pm I called to confirm my reservation I couldn’t get through to anyone in so I spoke to operator. When I spoke to the operator to confirm my reservation She confirmed that I still have a reservation but I still need to come in even though I checked then I asked her why do I need to come in if I already checked in she express it saying that I still have to come in to check my ID and my bank card and if I don’t come in by 3 o’clock I could lose my room. So I race over there to find out that one of my room was not even ready and to that that wasn’t even true they didn’t need to check my ID and my bank card to see if it was me do you lady in the front Dess apologize and express that oh that “we have new people they don’t know how the rules work so you have to give them time. Don’t worry come back around five or six your room should be ready I’m here until 11pm.” So I confirm that my room will be ready between 5pm and 6pm she stated Yes ma’am and gentleman that was with her also stated Yes, as well don’t worry you’re fine just come back and again we’re sorry for the mix up. So I come back around 6pm like I was told then same young lady who told me to come back was like oh I tried calling you and emailing you. Which at the timeI didn’t receive it and she said yes I emailed you at 4:01pm explain about your reservation mind you I just left that place around 3:55pm. She or the guy never once told me that I know no longer have a room and they put me into a different hotel across the street they don’t even have the same amenities and the rooms are very smaller sizes than what I originally asked for. Offer me a $20 discount which that’s not a discount they were very rude, inconsiderate, and nonchalant about it they had no compassionate young lady just stated she called and I wrote the email explaining situation and I was like but why didn’t you just tell me when you seen me the first time? Her response saying that I reached out to you through phone and email so I ask her to confirm my phone number and email the email was correct but the number was wrong. All she could tell me is that they were all booked/sold out that’s why we put you over there we’re giving you it’s a discount you should take it we’re sorry call the manager in the morning him and you can file a complaint. The way that they were talking to me you could tell that they’ve been doing that for a very long time when I spoke to the assistant manager the following next day he sent his apologies said he give me points. But points don’t do nothing after I brought over $100 worth of groceries that weekend so I could cook for my niece and nephew that was the whole point of me staying there because that their rooms suites come with A full refrigerator and a stove. It was not about the money it was about the simple fact is that you could just be completely honest about the situation and give me time to prepare see if there’s other options but she never gave me other options or time. She kept playing this game and I have to keep running back-and-forth. Later than night I checked my email and it turns out I got the email at 4:20pm and it also doesn’t state NO the explanation.
if you’re wondering my family didn’t stay at a hotel even though they booked a reservation a month and advance they end up staying at the other hotel cross street because...
Read moreI've checked into this hotel for a 2 week stay and I was nervous checking in because of the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. My one bedroom suite was very clean and smelled very clean. So far it has been a pleasant stay. However, the sofa seemed broken. It sunk in the middle as if the springs gave out. Also, there was damage on the fabric probably from cat scratching. But, we expected damage like that being it is a pet friendly hotel. It wasn't too bad. But the sofa slumping pretty severely in the middle has been very annoying.||||The bathroom was good but they have 2 towel bars that are very poor quality and broke right away. I know it is a Residence Inn but they can have towel bars that don't fall apart. This was very annoying because there was only 1 hook in the bathroom....nowhere else to hang our towels. ||||The pool......I don't know why it isn't opened yet. It had water in it but no one is allowed in the area. Actually, the swimming pool room looks more like a storage area for chairs, large equipment, and other stuff the hotel needs to store. It doesn't look like they are actively trying to get the pool up and running for their guests' enjoyment.||||The weather was lovely while we were here. So I was looking for "a" seat or "a" bench, but there were none outside....NONE. I asked management about if there is a place to sit outside with my dog so I could enjoy the weather. Management said they threw out their outdoor furniture during COVID and are awaiting new outdoor furniture. Really? Since 2020? How about going to Costco or B.J.'s for a bench. Just a suggestion. Fortunately, the Courtyard Marriott, across the parking lot, has an outdoor seating area which we were allowed to use. It was very nice, had a Western exposure and a lovely breeze. ||||The hotel is in a business complex which had many, many lovely areas to walk my dog and relax. Also had some great restaurants in the area.||||Breakfast......has really gone down hill! The days they had fruit, they only had oranges and bananas. Other days there was nothing! I asked the hostess if they had a banana. She said we have no fruit today, flat out none. No fruit salad, no fruit cups, no apples.....nothing! Muffins/bagels were each individually wrapped which was nice, but the muffins had a funny "chemical" taste to them. Waffle machine....non-existent. There was a lot of empty counter space in the breakfast area..... I suggest you bring your own food. Coffee was nice and plentiful throughout the day.||||It has a great laundry room with very new washers and dryers. They accept your credit card and do a good job cleaning/drying without damaging the clothes. $2.50/load.||||Maid service is every day if you like. If not, you can place your garbage cans and dirty towels outside your door. Daily, there was someone picking it up. They did a really good job keeping the hallways clean. The hotel always smelled and looked super clean. So, all in all, it is a good place to stay for long-term and if you have a pet. It just has some problems where they could definately...
Read moreThis has been my go too hotel for my monthly appointments at Sloan Kettering. My chemo treatments are five days in a row between Westchester and manhattan so it's very assessable and not very complicated to get too. The large room with couch, desk, and dining table, large TV on a swivel stand and desk separates the space giving you a feel of a separate bedroom. There is a nice size window allowing plenty of natural light. It's amazing that they over a nice kitchen with full size fridge, stovetop, microwave, and dish washer. It was also amazing to find kitchen essentials like a coffeemaker, coffee, silverware, plates, strainer, measuring cups, cups, paper towels, dish soap (both for the dishwasher and regular use, they even have a sponge!! It's not outdated and The counters are REALLY marble!! The staff have been really nice and polite, the breakfast is the bomb with a waffle maker and a nice assortment of other hot and cold options. The front area is really cool and stylish. They even have a fire pit and bbq for customers. My only small issues would be that they stop card access to the side entrances of the building and you have to go thru the main entrance and all the way down the corridor to get to your room. 8 or 9pm is way too early to lock the door ( and the time they allow access in is also a pain)I get why they do it but it's a huge headache for people that have dogs, and for smokers, and people that have things to do at night. Another minor issue is The room doors automatically SLAM shut. I like the fact they close all the way but they are so heavy that it will wake the dead if you don't have a hold of the door to close it, the sound will shock you! That's something maintenance can fix by adjusting what closes it on top. It makes it really hard when you have your hands full since there is no hook or anything to hold the door open. I'd also like to see the pool/hot tub open instead of the area used for storage. Allowing people to use the hotel pool next door is an ok option but that tells me that it's not a county wide shut down of all hotel pools so fixing whatever Westchester county deemed the pool unusable would be better. Especially for the people that book hotels based around a pool and/or hot tub option and its used as an advertising perk. Lastly the parking lot and walkway should have been plowed and shovelled better. My boyfriend fell on his back because of stepping onto black ice after trying to find a level place to put his feet after getting out of the car. I know people dont not want to shovel in between every car but not clearing the spaces at least in between the vehicles that are parked in front of the sidewalks makes getting on the sidewalk to go into the building...
