My first impression, to say the least wasnt good. We arrived a little after midnight. (I had to let them know I was gonna be late otherwise they would have sold my room if someone wanted it despite the month out I made the reservation. Even though when I made it I told them what time we would be arriving.) The dark hair, young kid. The last thing he wanted to do on the planet was check me in. I waited for 5 minutes, even after calling to gain entrance to be greeted. After that, word for word "sign this" "here's your key" thats all that was said to me. No directions to the room. My room was 223, the sign in the hallway doesn't tell you where 223 was. I returned to the desk to ask for directions and the kid was no where to be seen or heard, despite me calling for him. The last thing I want after a 3 hour ride was to find my own room without direction. After turning left the hall way going up the stairs and walking down to the other side we found the room. I choose the navel themed suit. It was rather impressive. They have a nice board with a story, a large ( comfy to me, not my girlfriend) king sized bed. The pillows really sucked. The base that the bed is on is VERY VERY VERY noisy. Any sign of movement made it squeak. Your neighbors are gonna know whats going down. The room was very clean. No dust, sheets smelled fresh and bed was nicely made. The shower is very very very small, probably because of the in room spa tub, but at least go with a stand size standing shower, not the smallest one you can find. I'm only 5 11 and I stood taller than the shower head. Good luck to anyone 300+ to fit in that shower. The room was well stocked with towels, body hands washcloths. Well stocked with hygiene related soaps. No hand soap. During this crisis thats going on i think hand soap should be a given. The heater/ac unit is very noisy and the plastics are broken and falling off. The spa tub worked as intended but it was pretty slimy. I had to buy things to wash the tub before I felt comfortable to use it. I honestly enjoyed the room and it was a nice lil "romantic " getaway, work on replacing/ fixing the items in that room so you can actually justify the price of the room and its solid. the bed base is seriously a big problem. It's...
Read morebed bugs. some stays good, but all it takes is one bed bug stay, and than you realize how poorly managed this place is. manager , an edlerly lady who seems nice enough. also manages neighboring americ inn, right next door. so she is rarely on property, and things get let go etc , bed bugs were found in a room, client scratching. a client who has stayed there numerous times with no problem. and no refund was given. terrible customer service. and it looks like managment staff is spread too thin, trying to juggle running multiple establishments to point of not being able to do effect job at one place. the next morning, met with manager, and she said "there are no bed bugs" . than asked for receipt saying she had contacted pest control, she had none. she than called pest control, client shouldnt have to demand this data. and run into these problems. client should get refund, prompt. and apology. also other staff members admitted this hotel had past issues with bed bugs. and that the room , where bed bugs were found. hadnt been rented out in a while and it was a smoking room or used tobe. did NOT want to be in a smoking room. poor customer service, tho in other instance have had a wonderful stay here. too bad one bad experience, and management gets put under the microscope and you see the problems. also took multiple photos of bed bugs or dark marks on sheets or between sheets. had no itching prior to getting into bed, but than immediately...
Read moreThe staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating, and were the highlights of our stay. That said, I’m saddened that our room was so disappointing that we decided to cancel our two-night reservation after the first night’s stay. Humidity levels were unbelievable despite running the fan all day, and leaving the bathroom vent on; we woke up just super moist, and I can assure we weren’t sweating. Was also raining, so opening the window wouldn’t have helped. Upon first walking in, a powerful dog smell mixed with smoke hit us, so we must’ve been placed in a pet-friendly room, which happened to be near the side door that smokers were using. Maybe it’s my fault that we didn’t specify our room preferences, but hotels were completely booked elsewhere, and it is what it is. Staff kindly gave us an air purifier plug-in to help with the odors, but it was tiny and ineffective. I can’t recommend this place because of the experience, but hopefully they improve...
