Needed a place to sleep for a few hours before another 12 hours of driving. I do not recommend this place. Room smelt from an air freshener to cover smoke. Holes in bedspread from someone’s cigarettes and the other bed had stains on sheets. I slept between the bedspread and sheets with all my clothes on. Train whistles and trains rolling throughout the night. Horrible lady at front desk. I went to turn in my key and get a copy of my receipt from checkout; when I went in the building she was sleeping as her response was “I’m awake” (guilty she was asleep on the job). Because the internet was down they took a copy of my card and I asked if the internet was back up and she said it was. So I asked her for my copy of my card and she said she destroyed it. When I asked you destroyed it? She got very mad at me and walked away out of site. I said excuse me and she returned and said I called her a liar. I said, I didn’t call you that and she then said I had questioned her and she didn’t like that. I said you never even asked my name so why wouldn’t I ask? She again walked away from me. I never threatened her or anything and it was my personal info. What the heck. I will watch my card to make sure no extra charges get placed on my card. Very shady place. She is in the wrong job. She should be fired for all her unfriendliness and uncalled accusations. Not good staff at...
Read moreOne of the more affordable hotels to stay in (decent nightly rates and better weekly rates). Bur you get what you pay for. Nightly stay rooms are better than weekly. Nightly have up to date Tv's, microwaves and mini fridges and are all located on the 1st floor. But the room itself is outdated as far as design and bedding. Weekly have small old televisions, outdated microwaves and refrigerator, the rooms are located on the 2nd Floor and can be aggravating for "extended stayers"... customer service and house keeping are honestly 50/50. The owner is very sweet and helpful, and most house keepers are polite but a few are very rude and the front office workers are always grumpy and/or rude. Seems to be a shortage on bath towels as they always give you less than you ask for/need. For 4 people they give you 2. On a better note, its conveniently located near I-95 and literally in the middle of Chester and Colonial Heights so it's close to everything. Def has it's pros and cons. I would say if you needed somewhere affordable to stay a night or 2, its worth it. But anyone looking for weekly stays, I would pay an extra $50-$100 a week for a...
Read moreBlack mold in the bathrooms, some rooms are worse than others. Roaches. Found a HUGE spider crawling on me in the shower, biggest I've seen outside of Texas. There was a stabbing here recently. A lot of people live here permanently. Some of which are open about being addicted to crack. One of the maids is super nice but severely underpaid. Our room lost power frequently, flipped the breakers using the microwave, which also didn't work right. One time we were told to wait til the next day for maintenance to flip the breaker. Horrible customer service all around. Even the free coffee in the lobby is disgusting, they just reuse the same grinds and it comes out like water. Wifi doesn't work.
ECONO LODGE next door IS DRAMATICALLY BETTER IN EVERY WAY. $19 more per week gets you cleanliness, comfortable beds, and free...
