My husband and I came to visit from Long Island, New York. My father in law booked this hotel for 2 nights for all of us to visit Glacier National Park. We drove about 7 hours from my father in law's house in Spokane, Washington and took in some sites along our way there. Upon arrival, check in was quick and easy. The women at the desk were so nice and helpful throughout our stay. They do not clean the rooms each day because of COVID, but we didn't mind that. Rooms are cleaned at the end of each person's or families' stay. The room was very clean when we got in and had a coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave. Shampoo, Conditioner, body wash, lotion, hand soap and a hair dryer are all offered in the bathroom. I did use all of the products and they were good quality and smelled nice. My husband and I had a king size bed while my father in law had a sofa bed, which he said was nice for our stay. The breakfast was ok. We all did not enjoy the bacon and no waffle station or pancakes. The waffle station may not have been offered due to COVID, but I'm not sure. Hot breakfast options consisted of eggs, sausage patties, and bacon. They also offered cereal, microwaveable Quaker oatmeal, cold yogurt in the fridge, and fresh fruit. Bagels, english muffins, and a variety of bread were also offered along with a self serve toaster, cream cheese, butter, and jelly. A variety of drinks are also offered including, coffee, various teas, and orange juice. It was a nice touch that they have cold ice water in the lobby at all times. It was great to come in after exploring and enjoy a cold drink. The lobby also offers coffee and various teas at all hours. My husband and I enjoyed a nice cup of coffee in the evenings while lounging in the comfy chairs and admiring the nice decor in the lobby. The pool and fitness center were closed because of COVID, so I was bummed about that, however, there is a public pool out back and while we did not go in it, I researched it and it looked to be very cheap for a day pass. There is a cute little playground out back with a picnic table and trees for shade. There is a big swing set, a rock wall for climbing, and a nice grassy area for the kids to run and burn off energy. There is also a little skate ramp that the older kids could use for scooters and stuff. We ate lunch on our way back from Glacier at a very good Mexican restaurant on Nucleus Drive which is close to the hotel. This hotel also has a cute little shop where you can buy souviners and personal care items. I bought some magnets and a postcard along with some huckleberry flavored lip balm. Overall, we had a nice stay. In my opinion, it was a little expensive, but if you want modern amenities, this is the...
Read moreThe way Cedar Lodge is handling covid is incredibly disappointing. While I understand we all need to be protective and thoughtful in how we handle covid, Cedar Lodge is very over the top... No where else in Columbia Falls handles covid the way this lodge does that we have found, including grocery stores, retail stores, liquor stores, or food establishments. While they advertise all these wonderful amenities, they have not updated their website to let customers know they basically give you a bed and a breakfast. The pool is closed. The hot tub is closed. The workout facility is closed. The business center is closed. The indoor and outdoor fireplaces are closed (why would an outdoor fireplace need to be closed). They don't clean rooms or even provide clean towels unless requested. The laundry service they advertise, also not provided. They weren't even able to provide glassware for us so we could drink wine in something other than a paper cup... The employee behind the counter tried to tell me that the people that owned Cedar Lodge are handling things consistent with CDC guidelines and the same way things are handled at all lodges in the park. I told him this was incorrect. That we had just been to Lake MacDonald Lodge and that they had indoor fires going in the evenings (which one would think are much riskier than outdoor), and they had all sitting areas open with people sitting next to each other in rockers. Cedar Lodge, really should update their website, tell customers that they have none of the advertised amenities, and try to make things right when customers aren't updated and get basically no additional amenities, at prices that should at least represent a nice lodge. It really is bed and breakfast, and nothing else. Now is not the time to come to Cedar Lodge. You will be very disappointed in the product you get for the price you pay, and their stance is totally different than the entire Park or Columbia Falls. I can't remember a time I have been more disappointed in a place we stayed and the lack of value we got. If you you are planning to stay here, I wouldn't. At a minimum, I would make sure you understand what you...
Read moreCedar Creek Lodge was an axcellent choice for our trip to Glacier National Park. The rooms were clean and spacious We had a room with a king bed and a pull out couch with an ottoman. There was a desk with a sturdy office chair and a minifridge and microwave. There was also a small safe, which is something many hotels no longer have. The best thing was the staff, partiicular Wendy in the breakfast room and the front desk manager, whose name I don't recall. We were greeted as we arrived .She also gave great dinner suggestions, giving us a list that she put circles around and wrote notes. The breakfast was standard far for hot breakfast. However there was more variety within the choices.Wendy the hostess was very professional and friendly. She promptly kept everything refilled. She talked with guests asking where they had visited and were visiting, giving suggestions . On the Dunday we were there no one was available to help herself her usual second had an injured knee. She was running and still friendly. We loved the location in Columbua Falls. Staying outside the park allowed us to choose restaurants and allowed us to not be restricted to places in the park. There were also grocery and pharmacies we could acess. We had stayed in several parks before including Glacier and prefer being just outside them. Also have to mention the maintainence man at night. They were not providing room service and empsized that no one would be coming into your room. However if you needed new linens towels or trash emptied You called them the desk and within a half hour it would appear outsidw the...
