Five-Star Takeout Experience – Delicious Food That Even the Picky Eaters Loved!
I placed a to-go order from here about two days ago, and from start to finish, the experience was seamless and genuinely impressive. As someone who frequently orders takeout due to a busy schedule, I’ve come to appreciate the rare establishments that not only make the process convenient but also deliver food that truly stands out in terms of quality, flavor, and presentation. Vaqueros exceeded expectations on all fronts.
The ordering process was smooth and efficient. From the moment I called in, the staff was courteous, patient, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than willing to answer questions and offer helpful suggestions based on dietary preferences. The estimated wait time was accurate, and when I arrived to pick up the order, it was ready and carefully packaged. The staff at the front counter was just as friendly in person—professional, welcoming, and organized.
Now, onto the most important part: the food. Every single dish we ordered was outstanding. You could tell it was made fresh, with high-quality ingredients and great attention to detail. The flavors were vibrant, well-balanced, and thoughtfully crafted. Each item traveled well, arriving at home warm and intact, with no sogginess or spills. That’s a testament to both their cooking techniques and their careful packaging.
What made the experience even more remarkable was that my children—who are notoriously picky eaters—absolutely loved the food. It’s rare that we can all agree on a meal, let alone from a new place we haven’t tried before. Not only did they eat without complaint, but they also asked for second helpings and talked about their favorite dishes the rest of the evening. That, in itself, speaks volumes.
Vaqueros has officially been added to our family’s list of favorite dining options. Whether for dine-in or takeout, the quality of their food and service is clearly a top priority, and it shows in every bite. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a flavorful, family-friendly meal—even for those with the most selective palates.

At the same time, the Vaqueros restaurant of Columbia Falls is viewed in the same colloquial as perhaps “the" binding agent of the foodie scene of Nucleus Avenue. Not being one to shy away from the science of restaurant psychology, whenever I’m working in the Whitefish area, I make it a general point to dine at Vaqueros with my colleagues, including my lab technician Sharon’s neighbor, Grant, a well-regarded physical therapist of the Boze, Montana collegiate. Following several top-notch servings of fried ice cream and a skinny margarita, I was compelled to excuse myself from the table and make my way to the restroom. There, I stood in line behind a woman engaged in a heated discourse on her cellphone with someone I would later find out was her ex. “Who the hell do you think you are,” the woman shouted into the phone. I was perplexed, but of course deeply interested, and became disappointed when she arrived at her turn in the restroom, taking the mysterious conversation away with her. When I returned with my colleagues, I saw the woman seated at a table adjacent to mine. I stopped to ask if there was anything I could do to assist concerning the nature of the phone conversation overheard in the restroom line. “Oh, it’s alright,” she said with a complex smile; there was a history of stress paved in striated avenues of anguish across her plaintive face. “It’s just my ex. He’s a real pain in the backside if you know what I mean? Honestly, and truly, I wish I’d never met the damn man.” We exchanged email addresses, after which it was deduced amongst our collective that we would pay for her tab, each of us splitting the charges equally, including ample tips for the servers and kitchen staff.

Read moreI wish you all could do better. We ordered food to pick up, my wife picked it up and we headed home 10 miles away and got settled in to eat, and opened the bag and the food was someone else’s. She’s a vegetarian and this was a chicken dish, so no chance of salvaging it, either. My wife called and asked for a refund, but you refused and told her she would get a “free entree” the next time we came in. But it’s not free, is it? She already paid for it, so why should we have to wait to get a meal (and also explain ourselves to you yet again), the next time we come in? And what if we never want to come back again? Based on how she was treated, I really don’t want to. So she asked to speak with someone else, explained again what happened, and that person finally agreed to give her a refund. But she had to fight you for it.
I’m wondering if you can figure out how to take care of your customers better than you did with us tonight. This was your mistake, not ours. My wife didn’t get the dinner she was looking forward to, and then she encountered resistance when calling you. So you all need to treat people better, and oh maybe you can also keep a better eye on the to-go orders.
By the way, when my wife called, the person knew what had happened because the people who got our order had already called saying they had received a wrong order. Since you have my wife’s phone number from when she called to put the order in, it would’ve been possible to call and inform her that she was given the wrong order. Maybe you would’ve caught her before she got all the way home. That’s some friendly advice for you on how to act like you are paying some attention.
We have eaten there frequently, and we recommend you to clients and guests, but unfortunately after this experience that is going to...
