Incredible store, not to be missed!! Seriously, if you are aiming to leave Montana with a sapphire, Murray’s is the place to go. Skip over the jewelry stores in Whitefish, where the prices are significantly higher. Murray will absolutely give you the best deal and fairest prices around. And, if you’re not looking to drop tons of money on a fancy piece of jewelry, then this store is also perfect for the casual curious tourist and families. Aside from the sapphires, they also have lots of neat rocks, minerals, fossils, trinkets, books, and art prints, at all price points. Seriously, I don’t think I have ever felt so comfortable in a jewelry store. Absolutely none of that uppity, pretentious, and stiff feeling you often get in most other jewelry stores, and none of that hard sell or pressure to buy if you don’t absolutely love a piece. Plus, Murray, who mines the Yogo sapphires himself, is always happy to share pictures and stories of his mining adventures. Murray and Jan are truly the best; just very kind, down to earth people, and they run a fantastic shop that has something for everyone. Absolutely recommend their store!!

Later edit: I forgot to add! I’ve been a repeat customer of Murray’s, and more than once, he has given me and my mom a little token or extra gift to express his thanks. Gave my mom a buffalo stone once and an agate bear he carved another time, and once he sent me home with six small white sapphires for free to use as accent stones when I bought some loose yogos from him for a jewelry project I was working on. Really amazing shop. Even if you’re not looking to spend money on sapphire jewelry, this shop still has something for everyone. Lots of other rocks, minerals, fossils, and art to be found throughout, so it’s not your average jewelry store. Murray also has some of the best prices and deals you can find in the area.
