We were late in making our hotel arrangements for graduation weekend, so this is where we ended up. It was tempting to sleep in our cars instead. Here's the best and worst of our experience at Extended Stay America Suites Columbia Greystone. -The staff member checking us in was friendly; the roaches in the apartment were not. (Saw 3-4 scurrying about each day.) -The vibes from the inhabitants were very chill; the air coming from the AC was not. (The chill-ness came from the herbs being smoked...no worries though...they stuffed towels under the door cracks to keep it "hidden".) -The outside of the building was very clean and up-kept; furniture/mattress, cabinets, tub area in the room were not. (Extremely worn out; definitely need a new cleaning crew.) You can tell the manager is trying hard to make things better...there were cameras in all hallways monitored by the front desk and our family in second room did not have old furniture. But the roaches and grime are not forgivable.

The lobby, the hallways, and the stairwells all smelled like weed every time I entered the hotel. The room was horrible because all the furniture was cracked and dirty and ripped. The bathroom was dirty where the caulking between the tub and the walls is. The shower vibrated when the water was turned on. The vanity was water damaged and falling apart. The toilet paper bar was missing. The door was broken on the edge and looked like someone tried to fix it, but the door knob was missing the closure mechanism and they were two different color door knobs on the same door. The floor was disgusting and dirty. As I walked in my socks, my feet would stick to the floor, and the bottom of my socks turned dark with dirt, and the bed only had two crappy pillows with it so my neck was hurting. Also, each morning I was woken up by hearing a loud Jamaican man on the phone right next to the bedroom wall.

Latoya was extremely nice when I arrived early (2:00am) for business meeting I had this morning. OAN: OFFICE STAFF WAS NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL WHEN WE BROUGHT AN ISSUE TO THE OFFICE. There was trash in the cabinet, (beer can with ashes in it), plastic bags in the bottom of the oven, no toilet paper in bathroom and one set of linens for shower, not one trash can in the room at all. Then the cleaning lady came up and knocked on our door, told my husband that we didn't find any trash in the room, there was toilet paper and that she didn't pick up dirty towels out of the floor by the door in the hall. She would this time, but no more. No one offered us a refund, no extra night, no I apologize, as a matter of fact we haven't decided rather or not if we're calling the Main office to make a complaint with upper management. Very dissatisfied!!!

Booked and paid for a room for 2 nights. Booked and paid for on Oct 7 with check in on Oct 15 at 3pm and check out Oct 17 at 11am. Pre called on Oct 15 at 2:oopm (an hour before check in) to let them know my son, his wife and my 2 grandsons (aged 5 and 4yrs) would be there around 8pm and was told they had NO ROOMS and that YES, they had OVERBOOKED and EVEN though they had charged my card, they would do NOTHING and I should check with Booking, com to see if they would find me somewhere else, the manager did not care at this hotel (Extended Stay America Suites - Columbia - West - Stoneridge Dr) so I called Corporate and they didn't care and told me they could handle my dispute in 1 biz day which would be Monday cause my check in was Fri with check out on Sun. I was VERY UPSET and after contacting corporate 3x, they transferred my call to an EXTENDED Stay front desk. Needless to say, I WAS PISSED but, thankfully, the front desk they transferred me to (I AM SURE WAS BY MISTAKE) was an EXTENDED STAY across from the street of the original one I had paid for, After being SO VERY frustrated with the 1st EXTENDED STAY and EXTENDED STAY Corporation....I WAS PRIMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So when I got put thru to the EXTENDED STAY that was RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from the original booking, I WAS LIVID. Thankfully the GM at that EXTENDED STAY (Shannon Burney||||General Manager|||| ESA Management, LLC||||450 Gracern RD||||Columbia, SC 29210) said YES WE MESSED UP and ask me " Please, give me 20 minutes and I WILL MAKE IT RIGHT" . And I did and she DID. She got us into an ESA 20 mins from our original site with no extra charge and with a refund. It took over 3hrs to get a room and I was willing to pay the original fee but she would not take it and stated, "that yes, ESA was wrong" and that they would "make it right". I am not sure after the DON'T CARE attitude that the original ESA and ESA Corporation gave if I WOULD EVER book with them again but I would book from ANYWHERE Shannon was managing. PS....I have proof of booking date and pay if needed by ESA because APPARENTLY their EXCUSE is ....IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU PAID OVER A WEEK AGO, SOME ONE WANTED TO.....EXTEND (LOL...MANAGEMENT THOUGHT THAT WAS A FUNNY PLAY ON THEIR NAME) THEIR STAY at EXTENDED STAY OF AMERICA so, we took ya money over a week ago and have not even bothered to inform ya of no room up to check in time......LOL.....OUR BAD.....LOL....WE ARE EXTENDED STAY....LOL.......WHAT YA GONNA DO................LOL????? Thankfully Shannon at the next road over HELPED even after CORPORATION left her high and dry with my anger. PLUS, my booking covered a KITCHEN suite (which was suppose to be a cost saver) and I GUESS you could TECHNICALLY call it that......STOVE (CHECK), FRIDGE (CHECK), MICROWAVE (CHECK), POTS/PANS/UTENSILS/DISHES/GLASSES/CUPS/ETC (NOOOOO). SO WHAT GOOD IS A KITCHEN with NOTHING TO COOK IN AND EAT ON?!!? Thank you Shannon. Love that YOU did your job but EXTENDED Stay will NEVER have to worry about...

At apx 2 am on 3 occasions of our 5 week etwy we eere woke up with pounding on our door. How did they gain entrance into the building past security doors, oh yeah they were broke. We had to beg for weekly maid service they never came on thier own..weed was being smoked constantly. The kids above us the entire 5 weeks slamned the flooui r from 9am to 10 pm. Thank god she put them to bed at 10 every night. The couple next door fought for hours verbally and shoving each other several times. We were told we can have dishes, toaster, coffee pot, drainer, pots, and silverware.and dish towels etc. We were there 5 weeks and got 2 bowls 2 plates 2 cups 1 skillet no lid. And were told its all they can find. It was filthy. The hall walls were just filth and some one spat a buggie it was never cleaned. The carpets were discusting stained everywhere. The entire kitchen was dirty. When i asked it be completely cleaned they spot cleaned the stove left the dirty microwave, cabnets etc. The few times i got maid service they left dirty cleaning towels and rubber gloves in my room even on my personal belongings. The bugs they call pametos or sokething are big enough to walk my maltese puppy and crawling all over the kitchen. I reserved this from washington state 3000 miles away when we pcs for the army and we were expecting base housing that got delayed 3 weeks after we began our cross country trip. We could not afford 130 plus a night for 5 weeks in other hotels. We had paid in advance as well and basically we were stuck. It was a complete nightmare. It seemed like a lot of people live there permanatly and are not really the kind of people that care about thier surroundings. The sign up front warns you to leave nothing in your car..speaks volumes. The other post management appologises pretends they had no idea and ask why you didnt talk to them etc. They are fully aware..oh i forgot the last day we slept there..wt 9am our door opened i assumed it was house cleaning making a mistake and left. When we were leaving apx 2 hours later discover our door was broken refused to lock..turns out it was kicked in...at 9am on a weekday.we paid for apx 6 days we were not there and slept in a empty house on the floor.because if we checked out we would have gone from a monthly rate to a weekly rate and...

Not a secure or clean place to stay.

My mom and sister were coming to town for the holidays and needed a place to stay for about a month, so I found this property and thought it would be good. The web site looked good, and being on a street next to a large oncology clinic and down the street from a hospice house, I figured most guests would be cancer patients staying over for treatments and families with loved ones at the hospice house, plus many businesses in the area.

Well, I made the mistake of pre-paying for their entire stay to get the best rate. Outside looked good, but once inside it was bad. The room was dirty, dingy, smelled, with carpet and floor stains. Breakfast was packaged muffins and coffee. It did have a full kitchen, so they were able to do their own meals. I offered to move my mom and sister, but they knew I pre-paid and would not get my money back, so they were troopers and stuck it out. God bless them!

Every night we would have to un-prop the rear fire door as someone kept propping it open so that anyone could just come in. We would alert the staff just about every night, but it kept occurring. The guests doing this even resorted to bending the door mechanism so that the door would not latch shut. Hey management...Invest a few bucks into door alarms that cannot be disabled and sound loud alarms when left open for more than a few seconds!! Think about protecting your guests!

Even thought we were on a non-smoking hall, the hall just fumed with tobacco smoke. We would hear guests fighting just about every night. We also would see women that looked like strippers come in-and-out during the night; there is a large strip club just a block away. This was definitely not a hotel for medical patients, hospice families and business travelers. I believe some were living here.

Staff was friendly but I believe they have their hands full as usually just 1 person would be working for this entire 3 story property. I did share all this with corporate, but all they did was have the same manager stop by our room and say he was going to take care of everything.

Needless to say, my mom and sister could not wait to check-out! Will never stat at this brand again, and I stay at a lot of hotels. I look forward to getting my canned response from...
