This was one of the worst motel experiences I have had yet. I stayed there on a planned stop from Tennessee to Charleston. I knew it was going to be late so I chose this motel based on it not having a check in no later than time. The motel entrance is difficult to find, but I can't blame the motel for that. Possibly better posting and an update to google maps by the owner could solve this. When I arrived (around 1am ish) I circled the building looking for a lobby. There was no evidence on one. I circled it 3 times total and found nothing. Wanting to go to sleep immediately I was thinking I could be missing something. I parked and walked around the building, including the breezeway. No signs were visible in the darkness. I called the number on google and it went to a call center. When I asked for assistance she could not help me with finding the lobby, but told me to call back the same number and push option 4 instead. I did this and got a similar lady who could not help who said to dial 1, which was what I pushed the first time. She attempted to check things on her end and it ended with me on my second walking in the rain trip around the building finding a sign. Alas, I spotted a small protrusion which when I shined my cell phone light on said lobby and had a sign outside on how to contact the night manager. I used the phone in the breezeway and called. She immediately came out and assisted me. I got checked in with no issues. (11/9/18 1am night manager was great with customer service) I was given room 336 I believe. Passing numerous no smoking at the building signs I opened the door and we were met by a wave of cigarette smoke and the smell of a chain smoker's room. We put our bags down, but found we could not stay there for more than a few minutes. I called to see if she could move us. She said yes, and to come back down. Again great customer service on her part. She gave another room 325 or something like that. Tried the key upstairs and it didn't work at all, no lights. Went back down and she issued us another room. This room worked and smelled like a normal room. Went to bed. The room creaked a lot, and the faucet or walls were leaking drips of water which were very loud all night. After the short nap through all the noise we woke up for the morning. I found 2 good sized holes in the bathroom door. There was no washcloth available in the room. The room didn't look like it had been cleaned in months because as we opened to refrigerator to see how the room actually looked we found a great deal of dirt and debris on the top part of the bottom door. A simple wipe down would have gotten rid of most of this. We checked out quickly and had no issues with that. My travel agency labeled it free breakfast and this was not fully complete. The Ext Stay website labeled it correctly as a grab and go. When we left there were 2 granola bars and some coffee left. Don't depend on breakfast from a grab and go unless you don't normally eat breakfast. That's not on Extended stay, and I don't blame them for that. Just be aware of what a grab and go breakfast is. All in all this was not a pleasant stay. Without the drenching rain, walks around the building, late hour, and patrons before who decided their need to smoke was more important than future patrons' choice not to, the stay was probably 3 stars. But with the combination of failures in cleaning, signage, and upkeep in rooms I give this a solid 1 star. Probably will think twice to three times before staying in another extended stay.

First of all I only gave it one star because you have to put something l but, this was the worst experience. The only reason I came was because I didn’t want to stay home because of hurricane Michael was passing through Lexgtion county. I’m traveling with my two sons one who is six years old and has autism and the other is 4. I asked to be accommodated by being on the third floor. Farther away from anyone that could Complain about noise because I like to be fair to other guests. And yes accommodated us!!! But, the bus stop there We made it to our room just to find out we have no pots bowls spoons silverware anything that could be useful in the kitchen. We have a full kitchen so I called the front desk and say we don’t have any pots and Stuff its the only reason I chose this hotel. The response to me was to come downstairs and retrieve them!!!???!! Ok cool no problems😇 from there I’ve carried on with my evening a few hours later I realize we needed some toiletries towels washcloths so I called. Then I was told that if you need them you must come downstairs to get them. I’m here for two days that doesn’t make any sense can someone bring to me?!!!!!🤦‍♀️ from that point I decided to wait until we went to get something to eat for lunch and we can and will retrieve some towels when we get back. But when I returned I noticed that there is a lady that’s working as housekeeping. The front desk lady tells me that in order to retrieve fresh towel I must bring my dirty ones first I’m up on the 3rd floor I’m trying to get this stuff before I go back upstairs to the third-floor. I’m here for two days and can’t receive any new towels unless I leave my kiddos untended or dragging them down stairs kicking and screaming 😱 heck no I told her I’m writing a review and complaint Straight BS don’t stay here at all 😡 Had to corner housekeeping lady and ask her and tell her the same story I’m telling you guys just to get a few towels so babies and I can wash another day rule of thumb when it comes down peoples traveling with special needs children we dealing with enough at least you can do is just help as much as you can. Kindness goes along way. For ten dollars a day they will clean your room and change your linen🤯

I come here to visit my family that has to stay here for a while until they find a new home because of the hurricane in 2024. However, although the staff is absolutely remarkable for them and attentive, whoever is supposed to be cleaning outside of this building is lazy and lacking in doing their job. It's like the staff ignores all the trash and the mess that people leave. And the noise from certain people. There is trash everywhere. I even found a condom in the stairwell as if somebody had sex in the middle of the night in the stairwell. I see children here quite a bit. That is unsanitary, disgusting, and again there are children here. My cousin is not one to complain. When she first came in the room it was stale and it smelled. It was not clean at all. When you can see spit splatter on the mirror it was not clean. When the refrigerator has stains in it it was not clean. Her curtains are still hanging uneven like someone pulled in them but the staff did not rehang them. She didn't even have a fire alarm. And she is still sleeping on the bed where half of it seems like somebody sat on one side everyday for hours. A bowl dip if you will. She's thankful to have a place, a roof over her head. But I see why the price is cheaper than the ones around it. And regardless of the price you should be able to sleep adequately and properly. There is an extended stay literally across the street, that does cost more. I can only imagine it looks better and it's better kept. If the staff can find somebody that is as nice as they are and actually does their job by cleaning up this property, it probably wouldn't be so bad. This is like staying in the ghetto. They need to do better.

This place should be condemned!

They have an INFESTATION of roaches. I mean everywhere, even inside the refrigerators!

They also have an INFESTATION of the evasive Red Ant species! There are MILLIONS of them surrounding the property! You can't enjoy the outdoors because of them.

NONE of the rooms have working SMOKE DETECTORS. Sometimes, the guest may remove them from the ceiling, but the HOUSEKEEPING STAFF should always report it and ensure the smoke detectors are put back in working order!

NONE of the REFRIGERATORS are working. I was there 3 months paying $440.00 per week, I went through 4 broken refrigerators and lost $214.00 in SPOILED groceries as a result!

Della Troutman, the GM, refused to reimburse me for any of my spoiled groceries.

All the WALL MOUNTED LIGHT FIXTURES are malfunctioning! They SPARK when you try to turn them on. They should be torn down off the wall and replaced. They pose an imminent Fire Hazard!

I reported these matters to Della Troutman and several other local, city, and state agencies.

Instead of Della trying to address any of these matters . . . She called the Police on me and LIED!

She told the Police that I didn't pay my bill and I refused to leave the hotel. She also said I was causing a disturbance at the hotel.

But get this one, y'all . . . this is the one that got me tight!

She lied and told Police that I THREATENED her!

So guys, be extra careful if you stay here. If you're trying to get low and stay out of trouble . . . Della Troutman, the GM, gonna make you a Hott Boy and get you knocked for nothing! It's the new trend! Use discernment and stay vigilant!

And peep this.....She is still sending me the bill for the remaining days on my reservation after lying to Police and having me thrown out!

Read the email I sent to Della Troutman, the general manager of the Extended Stay America located on 450 Gracern Road Columbia SC 29210.

Dear Della Troutman: ( General Manager)

I hope this email finds you well.

On Monday 07/14/2025 at approximately 14:20:00 hour's, you and another woman (I never met), knocked on my current room door (329 at the time) and said . . . I have an outstanding balance of $166.00.

You further stated that if I didn't pay the $166.00 by 16:30:00 hours,  I would have to vacate the hotel.

My fiancé was standing right there.

I said okay.

At approximately 14:25:00 hour's, I left the hotel and went to the bank.

At approximately 15:30:00 hour's, my fiancé called me from the hotel room and said . .  The Police were outside the room,  kicking on the hotel room door!   I said, why...open it!

She said she didn't know why, but saw you 20 minutes earlier walking around with the Police Officer.

She opened the door, and the Police Officer told her he was responding to a GUEST DISTURBANCE COMPLAINT.  He said,  the (GM) downstairs told him... I refused to leave the hotel, and I was acting aggressively and  that I threatened you!  He further stated, "You actually explained to him that I had until 16:30:00 hours to vacate the hotel."

My fiancé responded to the Police Officer . . ."Why would she do that?"   It's only 15:30:00 hours . . . and he's not even here!"

The Police Officer apologized to my fiancé.   But, as he was leaving, he said. . . "Make sure y'all are out of here by 16:30:00 hours, so I don't have to come back here!"   My fiancé said . . ."You didn't have to come here now!"

The Police Officer left.

At approximately 16:07:00 hours, I returned to the hotel and packed my belongings into my vehicle.

At approximately 16:23:00 hours, I drove off the property.

And when I left the property, I didn't see you anywhere in sight!

Why would you lie to Police Officers and jeopardize the safety and well-being of two absolute strangers?

Do you really believe your unethical behavior will go unscathed?

Your actions were retaliatory in nature due to the multiple complaints I filed against you.

You should be BANNED from the hospitality industry!

You are...

12/24 I was granted a room because of the hurricane. My apt is full of old and leaky.. Me and my daughter are just getting over covid and an ear infections because of the mold. I booked an appointment. The first person I got act like they didn't want to book the appointment so I was quite nervous as to if it was actually booked or not because I got no information. Everything that I asked was answered as if it didn't want to be. So I called back again and got someone different. They were very helpful and set my reservation was in the system. Cardless and risking our health and our apartment. Me and my daughter was granted a room until we move into our new place. How you get there? It was after 11:00. There was no one in the office. I was totally distraught because it took everything and had to get to the location for no one to be there. I called the emergency number. I got the rudest apparently sleepiest and unempathetic woman on the line. I told her that I was trying to get into my room number was I said I don't have one yet. I was supposed to check in today. She proceeds to act as if I am an p when obviously she is supposed to be working and it was dead set heavy that I must have woken her from a good night. Slumber, which I haven't had in 3 days dealing with the issues of sickness and Christmas, death in my family, etc. she proceeded to blow her breath Huff and puff as if I was doing something wrong trying to get into my room and said that she would come down to the office. I was so relieved we had nowhere to go about seven bags and a dog and luckily a friend of mine. I made out here because I have no family here. Had my daughter when we got to the office she asked me my name glance down and said I don't see your mama there and pulled out my paperwork via FEMA came from my name and all of the information that I went and double-checked before I came and she kept saying she didn't have it. She didn't offer me any sort of information. I asked her what the phone number was to the location we were currently standing in and she told me she didn't know so I picked up my phone and called and the phone rang 😤 I didn't get a car. A phone number? Any sort of looking up. Trying to figure out why and help my situation out at all. I was discussingly pushed away and me and my dog ate bags of luggage had nowhere to go. My only choice was to pay my last dollar to get back to where we were in the unsafe dwelling were livin. I currently have to wait until someone else arrives to get some sort of decent service but I promise to take this all the way!!!I am way past exhausted, struggling to give my daughter somewhere safe To breathe and this is the sort of service I am receiving. I am upset to tears and I'm actually very thankful that my daughter wasn't here but is Christmas Eve. We don't have anywhere to go. We had all of our bags and I was doing this so that she could have a healthy and safe Christmas and somewhere to inhabit until we move into our new place. This will not be the last time you hear from me. I am trying to go over everyone's head and I mean that this was disgusting deplorable and I promise you I will be calling in the morning getting up. There is a whole nother story but I am coming. I wasn't told any kind of checkout hours. Anything about the office being closed? Anything about what time I can check in and I did ask that and I knew that because I asked I wasn't offered any sort of information. Everything I did I had to ask and then I got pushed away as if I have not been through setting this up and making sure it was two or three times who runs this...
