Let's start by saying this is Waffle House. It does not matter which Waffle House you go to, the menu is the same and most things never change.
I order the same thing I have ordered at EVERY Waffle House since I was 8 years old. I'm 37 now, so almost 30 years of reciting my order word for word every time: Double waffle (sometimes I add pecans if i'm feeling extra) with hashbrowns scattered, covered, chunked, and cooked light. The drink has changed over the years, as it started with sweet tea and has since moved to coffee and water.
On today's visit, I ordered the same thing. My waffles came out great. Not overcooked but not undercooked either. Coffee tasted fresh, which was weird for a Waffle House. Hashbrowns, however, is where it all went wrong. In almost 30 years, I have never once uttered the word "smothered" in my order. Checked the ticket and smothered was not on it. But, my hashbrowns came out with so much onion in them I couldn't eat them. The waitress asked if I wanted her to make them again, and I said no, because I finished my waffles and was almost ready to leave. The waitress said something about removing them from my ticket and walked away but never touched the ticket to remove them. But then I realized that i had been here with an empty coffee cup for over 20 minutes, so I am waiting to see how long it will take them to notice. It's not like this Waffle House is busy. Maybe 10 people in here total. 25 minutes and still no coffee refill. 3 waitresses and one is standing by the bar, one is cleaning tables, and the third one disappeared 20 minutes ago and has not come back.
Pretty sure I'm not the only customer experiencing no service. Also, pretty sure I will not come back to THIS Waffle House.
Update: Waitress finally came to ask if I needed anything almost an hour later. Finally got my coffee refill. She attempted to "make the hashbrowns right" by taking $0.50 off my bill. Yeah...that's ok, I'll just eat somewhere else from now on. DO...
Read moreIf your health (and life) are important to you, best to avoid this place altogether! Stopped in for a couple eggs and some bacon at around 6pm Monday night. Sat at a table overlooking the kitchen behind the counter area, and nearly threw up in my mouth at the filth laid forth for the world to see, Including SCADS of old food and thick black crud under the prep areas, grease and food everywhere around the counters. There were two young men (employees) shooting the breeze and standing around happy as clams amidst the squalor ...with only two customers seated at the end of the place. This was not a situation where they had a “sudden rush” with no time to clean, everything appeared hardened and baked to the surfaces, including the floor. Smelled like funk-ola in there too. Unless you are starving, with the alternative being sure death, or are eager to contract a case of hepatitis or a stubborn flesh-eating bacteria, you’ll want to consider alternative dining establishments. Generally speaking I like Waffle Houses, but this was NASTY. Someone is going to get seriously sick from this place if they...
Read moreI would not recommend this location for dine in. There were 5 employees there and we were the only dine in customers. It took about 8 min before anyone came to take out order. Some were standing around taking and 2 were sitting in booths on the other side of the restaurant. The eggs I ordered were over cooked and I asked for new one and the cook started arguing with the waitress like I wasn't there want to know why she had to make them again. I explained wanted over medium not over hard with a brief explanation of what that ment. She didn't even respond the next set of eggs were not any better but it was obvious she could make anything but scrambled properly. Would give them a star for food if the hasbrowns weren't so good. The waitress was only at the table 3 time drop off the drinks, delivered food and bill, and when I requested new eggs. Was on phone the remainder of the time. Better off going to a different location there are more than enough of these...
