I truly believe that this place is used for sex trafficking.
First thing first, the staff were absolutely the sweetest people. Very welcoming and kind. Now that that is out of the way, we booked for a king room when we arrived no king rooms were available because they were not yet clean. Mind you check in is at 3pm. When we got on the elevator the stench smelled like sewage. Once we got off of the elevator and on the second floor we immediately regretted our decision. The hotel gave a very sketchy vibe. The hall space was extremely small, dimly lit, and smelled of stale cigarettes (despite the no smoking notice on posted in the elevator). The rooms were also very close together. Upon reaching the room I noticed that the door looked as if it weren’t shut all the way, but it was. When we entered the room we immediately became disappointed. The room space was very small, smelled of stale cigarette smoke, and there was no curtain on either of the windows. One window had a pull down black out shade and the other had absolutely nothing on it; in fact the shade for the naked window was in a corner of the room. Half of the bathroom door was hanging off of the hinges and dragged the floor as we opened it. It also had a hole in it. The bathroom smelled like cleaning product and sewage. The shower was not cleaned and there was a handicap washing chair in the middle of it. We were not provided with any clean towels or washcloths. There was only one folded towel in the bathroom. There was only a quarter of a roll of toilet paper and no other roll. The walls were super thin. I have absolutely no idea what was on the third floor but there was an intense knocking and dragging sound coming from the room above us. It sounded as if someone was constantly dragging furniture and the noise would only stop for a few minutes at a time. And when it stopped there were eerie footsteps and the closing of a door. The sounds would last for about 15 to 20 minutes and this took place from the moment we arrived until we left. The only reason we decided to stay was because the room was non refundable and we only needed a place to sleep for the night. The condition of the room door made us very uncomfortable so I ended up barricading the door before we went to bed. Because of the constant noise upstairs I was unable to sleep through the night and I was on high alert due to the environment. Please if you would like an establishment that provides the bare minimum of safety and comfortable spaces do not book here. They charge a very unreasonable price for a...
Read moreCustomer service is exceptional here! Mrs. Jeane is AWESOME! Makes you feel @ home. We stayed @ this hotel 4th of July weekend. She informed us of the fireworks show @ Lake Murray which we had no clue about. My son really enjoyed speaking w/ her each day about his site seeing adventures. Each & every staff member we encountered were pleasant & very helpful: Jordan (front desk), as well as, Dominic & Beverly (house keeping). Each of them were pleasant & had wonderful personalities! There were only a few things that kept me from giving this hotel all stars for the rating. Upon examining the bed linens & comforters, I noticed a small blood stain on 1 of the comforters. I did not report this to the front desk b/c we traveled w/ our own linens & blankets & stripped the beds anyway. Had I reported this to the front desk, I have no doubt they would have placed us in another room. Also, the hotel is located directly next to a train track (somethingthe hotel has no control over directly). This can be a real problem for those who are light sleepers such as myself. Fortunately, the only time I heard the train was b/w the hours of 10a.m.-11:30a.m. However, the hotel does provide ear plugs in the room to assist in blocking out noise from the train. Lastly, what was so annoying was the lady in hijab knocking on hotel room doors with a key card (REPEATEDLY until you answered) @ 8oclk in the morning to see if you wanted housekeeping to service your room. Knock a couple of times & wait to see if someone answers. Don't just continue knocking! We were tired from a long drive & were attempting to sleep in. I made sure this didn't happen again & put up the DND sign. The rooms were a bit on the small side, but the beds were comfy. No tub in the room we had (not sure about the others) shower only. I didn't like the fact that there isn't a shower door or curtain which encloses the entire area. Therefore, you will catch that cold draft while showering. Continental breakfast is unavailable @ the moment due to COVID which is understandable. There were grab-and-go breakfast options: muffins, yogurt, cereal, milk & juice. Fresh fruit could've also been an option. We were kind of disappointed on some days b/c not all of the grab-and-go items were available each morning (not sure why being that the hotel is very small & was not...
Read moreChecked into the hotel on the first night and was assigned room 211. When I went to the room I found it trashed like either someone had been in there who was very dirty or the room hadn't been cleaned. The second room I got was room 215 where the desk clerk told me the room was the first room to the right when I got off the elevator, in fact I had to walk through a fire door to get to the room, the door to the right of the elevator was 216. When I went into the room the room appeared clean. I noticed the front of the AC unit was laying on top of the AC unit, not a big deal. I noticed there was no tissues in the tissue dispenser, still not a big deal. I also noticed the roll of toilet paper sitting on top of the toilet, the dispenser was not on the wall. Also, there was no coffee in the room for the coffee maker, I bring my own so again not a big deal on it's own. Then came the television, it wasn't hanging on the wall with the hooks on the wall, it was sitting on the dresser leaning up against the wall. I didn't turn on the television because I had an event to be at. When I got home from the event, the television didn't work, then I noticed it wasn't plugged in so I plugged it in, it came on and went off right away as if there was a short in it. I had to do this manually because there was no remote. So I unplugged it, in case there was a short in it. I went to bed, woke up the next day and attempted to make a cup of coffee, but the coffee pot didn't work. I went down stairs to get a cup of coffee and told the desk clerk about the TV and Coffee pot and was asked if I wanted another room. I asked what room that would be and was told 211. I told the desk clerk I was originally in that room but it was not cleaned and since I checked in after housekeeping had left I doubt it had been cleaned by the morning. I asked for a new coffee pot and TV and the clerk wrote it down. When I went back to my room my keys didn't work. When I came home for the day, I noticed no change with the TV and the coffee pot still didn't work. I asked the desk clerk (different person) about a new coffee pot and tv and was told there was no spares. Day 3 at the end of my day I went to the room, keys didn't work again. TV still didn't work, coffee pot still...
