I love staying here!||I have stayed here once with a bridal party (which I would highly recommend) and recently with my husband and 4.5 mo baby, as we have close friends that live nearby in Sardis. This place is great!||+ Thoughtfully restored, beautiful accommodations in a historic building, no detail has gone unattended (I don't know what detergent they're using on the sheets but it was a welcome change from the bleachy scent you sometimes get in large hotels.) Rooms are all unique and beautifully appointed. Beds are comfy! |+ Full shared kitchen stocked upon arrival with yummy snacks and breakfast goodies (ideal for washing baby bottle paraphernalia and storing milk)|+- Shared spaces are as lovely as the rest of the inn, including a back porch where nearby music could be enjoyed but this means interacting with other potential guests, which we thoroughly enjoyed although other may prefer a more isolated experience. This was also ideal for enjoying a bottle of wine outside our room after Baby went to bed. |- Parking can be difficult (but not impossible) on weekend evenings.|- Rooms (especially towards the front of the building) can be noisy due to nearby bars and live music venue (We had zero issues in room 204 on a Saturday night although we travel with a white noise machine for the baby.)||It's a beautiful place with lots of character and charm. 30 min from Oxford, 45 min from Memphis, and 5 min to Sardis. The proprietors do well to make you feel like you're staying somewhere special, complete with the southern hospitality that you'd hope for. We...
Read moreThis is such a wonderfully amazing place! I wasn't excited about having to travel for a weekend wedding, but as soon as a pulled up where they had booked us at the Como Inn, I fell in love with the place.||||I simply love old places with history so this was right up my alley!||||The Como Inn is a full-featured experience. Fully stocked with wonderful food, in an old building with multiple super comfy rooms.||||Check in/check out times are flexible which I also found as a nice Southern touch! Just use your manners. :-) The owners are just good, kind southern folk. If I didn't have to be in the wedding, I would have been just fine sitting out on the back great patio and shooting the sh*t with them.||||One thing to note, there is a long, shotgun staircase up to the room level so be aware of that should you have elderly or other similar needs. I consider myself old in my 50s and it is indeed a haul, but waits for you at the top of the stairs is an awesome experience!||||As far as the nearby... plenty of food options from pub grub to Thia and Mexican and a steak house that clearly must be something because there was a line of people a block long waiting to get in there! There's also a store a few blocks up with all your basic needs including alcohol.||||I honestly wish we would have had more than one night and a rushed schedule as I could see myself spending an entire weekend trip there just to chill and we plan to do just that. A simple and...
Read moreI and my wife and another couple decided to go to well known Como Steakhouse, about 1 hour or so from Memphis, and stay at the Como Inn. Como is a small Miss. delta town and the downtown is about 3 blocks long. The Como Inn, an old former hardware store, has been renovated to include 6 upstairs B&B sleeping rooms. The owners have done an exceptional job on the renovation, giving the feel of upscale rooms in any major metropolitan area. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are large with ample sitting areas. Bathrooms are spot on contemporary. The breakfast is a "do it yourself " activity, but really nice, with homemade items like quiche, sausge casserole, and pastries ready for you in the morning. There s a nice size kithen to prepare breakfast. For the most part the food itemsare prepared by Ms.Sharon Tate (yep, that s her real name!) who is the charming woman who is there to meet you upon arrival and who is prepared to meet whatever needs you may have. Breakfast also includes fresh fruit and juices, coffee and cereal of choice. There is a nice size "library" for conversing and ample table space. Interesting antique items dot the halls and rooms. The steakhouse is only a few doors down. Finally, the rooms, the kitchen and the gathering areas were all spotlessly clean. Of course, the Inn has central air and heat. In a word, the Como Inn is a great value and terrific stay, and we will return. We give it our unqualified...
