Would not recommend this place at all! Upon first pulling in to the location parking was difficult with half of the lot consumed by their u-haul side business. Not knocking the hustle but maybe not use the same parking lot. Upon entering the building our noses were immediately assaulted by some of the worst smelling incense I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. then after waiting for 15 minutes to check in and get keys, we were once again surprised with an additional $5 "Hotel Service Fee" which is never discussed on their website, or anywhere else for that matter except for a piece of paper the "manager" shows you from behind the counter. Upon getting to the room we discovered the smallest pillows neatly placed upon the thinnest blankets I have ever seen. Prompting me to make another trip to the nasal assault that is the front desk to request more pillows. Which they DIDN'T HAVE!!! What hotel doesn't have extra pillows? It was so bad, that my friend who was meeting me in Crete opted on staying elsewhere after seeing the place and hearing what my experience was. The morning of our check out, we decided to try the complimentary breakfast which consists of a waffle batter dispenser, and hot skillet, a single milk jug, cereal dispenser, juice dispenser and coffee machine and a bread box. The waffle batter tasted a little sour and after being cooked in the iron, came out with one of the most unique textures I've ever witnessed. It was cooked, but more chewy than gum. This sure was the cheapest hotel in town, and I know they say you "get what you pay for" but the super 8 in Crete makes that...

Do not go here! My son was held against his will and money was stolen off his card! The manager is on drugs and refused to honor our online reservation! I had to call the police to have my so removed from the hotel safely! I contacted the local police where I was informed the hotel gets a lot of complaints due to the very same manager! Don’t stop here! Don’t put your card on file! Money was taken off two separate accounts on two separate occasions and we had to lock our cards and cancel our reservation! Please read ALL the reviews! We had to learn the hard way! I have all recordings and proof the police had to feee my son! You are liars! This place needs to be shut down! It's not safe. My son is a successful student in Doane University, he has never touched drugs a day in his life! And he's an athlete at the school! This ppl are liars and you aren't safe! Call the Nebraska Police department before you stay here! Don't take my word! I also have messages where they admit to kidnapping my son for money and offered to pay it back! 0 stars if possible. Reserved 13 rooms for a family reunion four months in advance, was given a discounted rate of $79 per room and told they were reserved. A week before the event I got a call saying they have half my original number of rooms reserved, price will be $100 on those and $150 for any additional. Canceled all reservations and told Sonny the manager I wasn't playing his games. Cut to a few days later and I have two fraudulent charges on the credit card I used to reserve the rooms, not to Super 8 or Wyndham but some straw company. Too close to be a coincidence. Avoid this place at all costs. UPDATE: I have discovered that the fraudulent charges are charges from Crete Super 8, for two of the reservations that I told him to cancel. Am currently working with the credit card company to get them canceled. UPDATE: Spoke to a different person at the Crete Super 8, who seemed much more reasonable and tried to give me a legitimate reason why the reservations "disappeared". Unfortunately his story was not borne out by investigation. He did immediately cancel the two charges referred to above.
