The one star that you see was only put there so that I could do this review. My mom and I booked this hotel room for 4 days online and paid $235. When we arrived to the motel we were greeted by a police officer and a young black guy having a loud disagreement; From what we were able to hear the black guy had his cell phone stolen when he was a guest at the property and spoke to the owner about it who called the police to have him removed from the property. Needless to say we did not get out of the car to go check in until the altercation was over. When we got inside I gave the owner my name and ID so that he could bring up the reservation and right from the beginning he was terribly rude. While he was bringing up the reservation on the computer I noticed that the actual price of our reservation was $201 and not the $235 that we had paid for it When he handed us the reservation slip to sign there was no dollar amount on it so my mother asked how much the reservation was To which he replied it's however much it was when you made your reservation online. My mother told him she was aware of how much the reservation was online but the amount on his computer screen with much less to which he replied to her with you book online you pay however much the party is that you booked with charges you. I was pissed but my mother just said that's fine, signed the reservation sheet and got the key. Here's where the story gets worse, We get to the room door and the door would not open the key lit up green like it should have opened but the door was stuck shut. I gave the door A little nudge thinking maybe it was just stuck a little but to no avail it was stuck shut. I went back to the office and told him that the door was stuck and he asked if the key was working. I told him yes the key was working but the door could not be opened and that I needed another room. He snatched the key card from me and said he was going to try it himself. We walked back outside and we stayed downstairs while he went upstairs to try the door because we knew he would not be able to open it. He came downstairs and then accuse me of breaking the door to which my Mom, finally Fed Up, said to him 'excuse me what did you say to my child?' ( I'm 31 but still mom's baby ) He completely ignored her question and told me that there were no more rooms available so I would have to cancel the reservation. My mother said that's fine I need a cancelled receipt so that I will be sure that I'm getting my $235 back, He told us that he wasn't giving us anything and we needed to call the company that we booked through to get our money back. By now I was livid and ready to blow a gasket but my mother calmly said that's fine everyone get in the car. We did get our money back but my mom, who has never been to jail not even for an unpaid traffic ticket, said if he had accused ME of breaking that door one more time that day would have been her first time. Moral of the story: STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM ROYAL INN DALLAS NW!!!!! The price isn't worth...

I asked if the Wi-Fi was good, as they advertise free Wi-Fi, i have had a good connection for about 5 minutes max, and it says internet may not be available also on the billboard it stated a cheap weekly rate, but they dont even do weekly rates anymore..
I called the office and told the employee I wanted to switch rooms and after 20 minutes of no response I went to the office and demanded a different room or a refund, he said its one available but it's a 2 bed and I'll have to pay an extra 5 dollars. I told him why do I have to pay more wen I never wanted to switch rooms in the first place but due to the neglect of there rooms I was not comfortable at all staying in that room.
he told me I had to talk to the manager in the morning about a refund, but anybody in they right mind knows that u more than likely will not get ur money back after u stayed the whole night,
but after about 40 minutes he did give me a another room and I didn't have to pay any extra money.
The new room was right next door to the room i didn't want to stay in, and the employee even told me that this room may not be any better, and I was like why... u guys don't clean your rooms, but wen I see it's one room over where the nats and flies were at, they could easily find a crack and be in my new room in no time, but what employee says that this room is going to be bug infested too, without trying to go to the room and at least spray the room to fix the issue.
the new room didn't have many flying insects. but it had a bad smell in the room.
about 30 minutes in the room the employee comes to my room and opens the door with his key didn't even knock and was asking me if I turned in the other key and I did, like who walks into someone elses room, smh the housekeepers at least knock first before entering but not him.
but the overall experice at this hotel is horrible, it doesn't even deserve 1 star.
as I write this it's Oct 3 at 11:26. After I complained to him the second time after switching rooms he said I could talk to the manager at 1am that's wen he'll be here, so at 1am I will be in the office and demand a refund after the fact my stay is almost over, and let's see if I'm compensated for this room. Read moreThis was a horrible experience. I paid 108 dollars for 2 nights, we requested a non-smoking room. He insisted smoking. Fine whatever. When we got In the room, my boyfriend made the joke of cockroaches. Sure enough a look at the bathroom, there was a cockroach in the tub. And on the wall, and all over the toilet. There were WET stains, on the BED SHEETS. ??? There was graffiti on the wall, and the fridge. The tv did not work and the door did not lock. We were too scared to even try the water at this point. I was livid. I requested a refund, after staying in the hotel for 20 minutes. He said at the check in -no. I called the following morning, speaking with a manager, I wanted a refund.
