My daughter and I stayed for one night here after a LONG flight from Sydney, Australia. We were meant to arrive around 9 pm, but had issues with the rental car at the airport, so were after 11 arriving. The night staff were just amazing, welcoming us warmly and offering us water and hot drinks (available in the lobby).||Our room was sparkling clean, wonderfully spacious and quiet, and the beds were super comfortable. All was perfect until the next morning when the housekeeper knocked on our door at 10 a.m. for no apparent reason. (Checkout time is 11.) She then kept peering into our window and loitering by the door. We'd organised a slightly late check out with the night staff, asking if we could leave just before 12, as we were meeting friends for lunch nearby and were tired after such a long journey.||The housekeeper unfortunately kept knocking on our door every 10 minutes and peering into our window, with her hands and face pressed up against the glass. I finally just opened the door, despite it being the middle of December and very cold, so that she could see everything we were doing. We'd have been out much sooner if we weren't harassed every five minutes by this rude staff member.||It was a terribly disappointing end to an otherwise pleasant and wonderful stay, so the housekeeping staff clearly needs reviewing. Such behaviour is completely unacceptable. If the housekeeper was concerned about something, she should've had the front desk staff phone us, like any rational person would do, rather than loitering like a hovercraft outside our window, peering in, making my child feel extremely uncomfortable.||I explained the situation to the front desk staff upon checkout, who were understanding, stating that the night staff had not communicated with them.||But the inn itself is wonderful. No frills but clean, comfortable, and spacious, with everything you need for a good night's sleep. We also appreciated the free parking and WiFi and the especially lovely night staff who welcomed us so graciously after a harrowing travel experience. My recommendation: keep the curtains drawn. You'll be in the dark, but you'll have your...
Read moreI was staying at this location on the evening of December 14th for an upcoming Doctor's appointment nearby the next morning. Everything seemed to be going well until I got settled in. At a point, maybe two hours after I checked in I noticed a spider crawling on my pillow and was immediately alarmed (I am horrified of spiders) which prompted me to get up and check the rest of the room. I discovered a total of four spiders (that I could see) all of which were rather close to the beds. (Either under the bed or in a corner near the beds). I brought this to the attention of the front desk and could not receive a room change as they were sold out that evening which was understandable, so a discount was proposed as compensation. The next morning I go to check out and speak with a higher-up by the name of Miss Montine, she reacted as though I was being irrational or facetious in my reporting the inconvenience to her prior to me showing her the video recording of evidence. Once seeing my photos and recordings she responded she would contact me at a later time that day concerning what measures would be taken after the room was inspected post my departure. I did not receive a call from Miss Montine nor the manager on duty the evening of the event, Kevin Mortley.
Here are the photos of (most now dead) spiders I took as well as a recording (edit: I am experiencing errors uploading the video, I will reattempt at posting it if possible) of one crawling along the carpet near the edge of one of the beds in the room. I will say I am rather disappointed and let down in how this situation was handled especially in the event that someone else could have easily overlooked this and possibly been bitten by a spider (or other potential bugs) at this location causing any unknown reaction. Please check your rooms thoroughly when staying here.
Edit: I have added the photos, I am not certain if they show up beneath my review or not, but I retain my evidence for any official...
Read moreWe stayed because of open heart surgery at Emory. Not knowing what to expect with surgery, we booked a room with kitchen. The room was well furnished and pleasant to stay in for a week and a half. I had to extend the stay twice due to doctor changing surgery date and some set backs. The staff was amazing at helping me be able to stay in my room the entire time. If you are needing to visit Emory University Hospital or clinics, this is the place to stay. You can walk easily to the hospital or drive if you like. Having late hours in the office area with all day coffee/tea was great for coming back from hospital late. Breakfast is a cold breakast, but there is a toaster. They have cereals, breads, boiled eggs, yogurt, and instant ostmeal or grits. Cookies were available throughout the day. There are a lot of outdoor areas to sit and relax. Many said rooms were "old". I saw some wear and tear in the carpet, but no musty odors. My room was always very clean after staff came by. Bed was comfortable with many pillows. Sound comes through the walls, but not any more than other hotels I have been in. Overall, this was a great stay and will be our "go to" hotel for all our future visits to Emory for heart checkups. Hotel is also pet friendly, with a $30 fee. They have doggie bags and some grass to walk. We will probably bring our pets on...
