Schwartz Center for Performing Arts — Attraction in Decatur

I remember when the Schwartz Center first opened on campus back around 2002-2003.

I performed there several times with the Early Music Ensemble (now Lauda Musicam). Because of the grand design of the building, we were able to recreate an authentic experience of polychoral music - with some of us singing and playing from the balconies and down the isles, as well as from the stage!

We sat in the balcony for a choral performance. The seats were designed for skinny people with short legs . I'm not a small guy and i was seated next to a guy who was bigger than me. Although the show was great I couldn't wait for it to end because of how uncomfortable it was. It was way too hot as well . All in all i would probably pass on returnig . Especially at $35 to be uncomfortable for 2 hours . Do yourself a favor and...
