So I decided to try Double Zero for a couple of reasons. One is because I noticed that it was owned by someone who runs one of my other favourite local spots and tying into that in a way with two is because I felt bad reading some recent bad reviews as it’s not matched my experience with this purveyor. Well there was only one way to find out and as I expected (and hoped) everything was delicious. I ordered the meatball appetiser and the shrimp bucatini entree. Meatballs (you get three) were flavourful and delicious and the polenta was creamy and of perfect consistency. The shrimp bucatini was just as good with both the shrimp and pasta being cooked perfectly, neither too underdone or too mushy. There are some capers in the dish that add a nice tang and I don’t know what else was in the pasta sauce but it was SO GOOD and the highlight of the order overall. If you’re a newcomer and thinking about checking this place out I would encourage you to do so. Prices are good and you always get Hugh quality food made with high quality ingredients. I should add that I don’t know nor have I even met the owner as I’ve been staying home during the pandemic. This is just my honest opinion without bias. And my opinion is that it’s always been evident that the teams behind these restaurants genuinely care about the food they put out and strive to make it some of the best.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Double Zero Pizza, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. Now, let's talk about the food. The pizzas at Double Zero are truly delicious. The crust was perfectly cooked, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. I especially enjoyed their Garlic Knots, which were a delightful blend of softness and garlic goodness. One thing that impressed me was their great specials. From the $10 pizza deal on Mondays to the $12 calzones on Tuesdays and the tempting $9 beverage specials on Wednesdays, there are plenty of options to satisfy any craving. I also appreciate their pasta dishes, which are equally delightful. The Thursday pasta specials offer a variety of flavors and are definitely worth trying. Overall, my experience at Double Zero Pizza was excellent. The combination of tasty food, friendly service, and a cozy ambiance made it a memorable dining outing. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious pizza and a great dining experience in Atlanta

As of now, I can only give Double Zero 3 stars however, we do think the restaurant was having a really bad night the night we visited.

When we arrived for our 7pm reservation, we were told that a table would be ready in a few minutes. We were seated 15 minutes later. This shouldn’t happen when you have a reservation and are on time.

Once seated, we waited several minuted before our waiter greeted us and poured us water. We also started noticing other tables who looked like they were impatiently waiting for drinks, food and checks. At this point, we realized it was going to be a long night. After we ordered drinks, the gentleman behind us asked the hostess where his waiter was and said that they had been waiting 25 minutes and still had not received their appetizer (our appetizer was brought out before theirs). Maybe 10 minutes later, he and his wife walked out of the restaurant - he did tell the waiter that it was not his fault and tipped the waiter.

We then noticed another table near us where two people had received their food but the other two were still waiting for their food. They were waiting a while…

At one point, a family was leaving and stopped by our table and handed us a voucher for a free “small plate” because they were given two vouchers because of the poor service they received. The whole situation was laughable at this point.

It obviously seemed like something was going wrong in the kitchen - maybe a couple of cooks quit but it also seemed like the restaurant was short a couple of waiters and even a manager. The floor manager was plating food in the kitchen and the hostess was bussing tables. Something was clearly off and after reading other reviews for the restaurant, it seems like this is not the usual. If it was, there is no way this restaurant would be around in another month.

So, therefore, my review will be about food, drinks, atmosphere and value. I won’t review service other than mentioning that our waiter did a great job.

Food - The food was really good. We ordered the meatballs appetizer which tasted good however the portion size was pretty small. It came with 2 meatballs that were on the smaller side. For the price ($9), the meatballs should be a bit larger or there should be 4 total.

Drinks - We ordered the “dewdropper” which is a gin cocktail. It was just… meh…. nothing special. Next time, we’ll order wine or beer.

Atmosphere - The atmosphere was really good however the dining area was pretty tight. If a few tables were removed then the main dining area would be a really great space. Having the tables as close as they are is the main reason we were able to hear all the other diners having so many issues.

Value - I think the prices are slightly high but what you’d expect. The pastas and pizzas seem like the best bang for your buck.

Overall, it was an interesting experience. The food was good, drinks were ok and the service was bizarre but we would like to give it another chance since we do think it was an off night - or really hope it was. For now, I can’t give more than 3 stars but if/when we visit again, and if the service is back to normal, i’ll definitely...

Disclaimer, I do not always leave a review. However, I always review exceptional service and exceptionally bad service. In this case, it is EXCEPTIONALLY BAD service. I placed my order at 732pm EST. The confirmation email said my order "would be ready in 30 minutes". I arrived EXACTLY at 802pm. Call inside and let them know I had arrived. They immediately brought my food out. I was very pleased... Until I checked the food. I ordered a pizza, a salad and some garlic bread. The pizza did not look right(missing toppings). The pizza and the bread were room temperature at best. It felt like the food had been sitting for quite some time. I go inside to bring it to their attention. The lady that met me inside explained the topping issue - extra two toppings were in a side container in the bag with the salad. Based on what toppings they were, I completely understand that. Then I brought up that it was cold and so was the bread. She said they could make another and it "would only take a minute". I was troubled by this. If it "only takes a minute", why do I have to wait 30 minutes to pick up?? I placed my order and waited the 30 minutes - for food that I have to completely reheat once I get home. So, all in, my family had to wait over an hour to eat. If you are anything like me, you expect to be able to put the food on the table and eat as soon as you get home. DZ should not have a blanket pick up time frame if the food is going to be ready in a few minutes. I would be there in 5 minutes to pick up if that's all it takes to prepare my order. Also, in light of how much the pandemic has affected the restaurant business, I try to be mindful of that and help where I can. I try to tip a little extra(in this case, it was about 30%) when ordering food for takeout or delivery. In my mind, that was not earned tonight. I hope DZ management reviews this and takes it to heart. Customers should not have to reheat food they just picked up when they followed the instructions given by the restaurant. I honestly don't think I will order from here again. This upsets me because I really like their food - when...

I have been waiting to try this amazing place for quite sometime and I finally went and OMG why in the hell have I been waiting!!!!! It was absolutely beyond good, amazing, delicious and perfection!!!! Me and my bestie kinda did a tour of the menu lol. We started off with arancini and chicken meatballs, my bestie said the arancini was really good I didn't taste them because I don't eat beef and they were made with brisket but those chicken meatballs with polenta smack your lips amazing!! The meatballs were seasoned perfectly and so juicy man I was in heaven. We also ordered a bottle of wine which was amazing but I can't remember the name due to my bestie picked it out but they have an amazing wine list that is not mentioned on the website but its awesome. We them ordered the margherita pizza and boy oh boy amazing is an understatement because it literally was the best margherita pizza I have had in Atlanta, I'm drooling just thinking about it. The sauce was perfect and the dough was just delicious!!! We finished off with pasta, I had the Pappardelle which was knock your socks off fresh and the mushrooms it was pure perfection not a lot of sauce but enough to coat the noodles and you can definitely taste the freshness of the pasta and my bestie had the cannelloni which she said was amazing. We absoluted our meal and enjoyed our time at Double Zero and will definitely be back. The atmosphere was great, nice decor and very friendly and attentive staff. The parking situation just an FYI they do have valet but it was full at 7:30 on a Saturday night but I found free street parking. I wish I could give 10 stars because they definitely exceeded my...
