Yes, it’s a nice, new hotel but the poor customer service is not worth it. Here are the problems we had with this hotel. I called to make reservations and they booked me for the wrong day! She only realized after I asked to confirm everything at the end of the phone call. When she realized her mistake she got really flustered because the price she has quoted me was much less. She didn’t know what to do so she put me on hold so she could talk to someone else. I was on hold for 30 MINUTES before she found someone to talk to about the issue. She told me the lady was really mad at her for making that mistake. Then I got to talk to the “mad lady” who said they would not honor the price I was quoted because they “caught the mistake right away”. The second lady was very condescending & unapologetic. She said the best she could do was offer me a discount from the regular rate. I would have just canceled my reservation at that point but we wanted to stay with the other dancers from the dance competition. See below that they did not know anything about the discount at checkout. Upon check in, the guy at the front desk was very scattered. He said my room was 152 & my parents room was 320. I asked why they wouldn’t be together since I booked both the rooms at the same time. He gave no explanation or no apology but just said, “there is nothing we can do, we aren’t switching rooms around”. We checked in at 5 pm & I know for a fact that multiple others had not checked in. He could have at least taken a look to see what he could do to get us a little closer! Even an apology would have helped!! Then, he shouted at us as we were waking away, “wait, we don’t even have a room 152”. He says, oops, I wrote down the wrong number, you are in room 302 which at least was on the same floor as my parents but no where near their room. One of the other mom’s was talking to the other desk attendant and she was very upset. The desk lady was being very rude & unapologetic to her. I later found out that she had 3 children plus herself so booked 2 beds. They gave her a room with 1 bed. They did not apologize & said there was nothing they could do. Again, it was early, 5 pm, certainly they could have at least tried! Apparently she also paid a higher rate for a certain room that she didn’t get & they refused to give her the lower rate! They told her that she was lucky to have a room because everything in town is booked up! (10 more issues but this is the limit for...

Efficient, Clean, Quiet and Overall Accommodating!
If ever on your way to Where-ever-ville, be sure to get a good night's rest and relaxation RIGHT HERE! Way too many bonuses to name. An Easy Gold Star! ⭐️ EDITED: All of the above WAS my experience until Friday night. Where It became violently LOUD!
To my surprise, there was a random wave if noise that would not leave. I reported to front desk. He assured that he would speak to the other guest. An hour had passed & rumblings & what souded like fighting only persisted!
I ended up calling front desk again, this time- with hopes to have my room changed. This ended badly as the rooms were sold out. Turns out-this amazing stay had been compromised due to there being a youth sports team, now flooding and apparently not caring that they were not in a space to champion their wild activities!
The front desk personnel was nonchalant and didn't offer any apologies!!!!
My restful night came to a hault. My departure to desperately find lodging within a 2.5 hour drive was filled with anxiety- because of it now being very dark and I'm having to be extremely cautious of deer crossings as well as my passing through the Amish community; terrified, I may not notice a family on their wagon or horses. Cannot make this up!
This was certainly not how imagined my stay would end. And to ADD insult to injury, I was not given ANY credits to my account.
I understand the issue of the date 11/5-11/6th (the double reservation in 2 different locations). But that doesn't excuse nor apply to the the remainder days of my stay- not being credited.
I would hope with the reputation of this hotel chain, that would be an easy resolve. Especially seeing how NO ONE cared to contact me or make amends for how badly my experience turned.
I'm repulsed, to...
Read moreLoved it. The bed was firm, very comfortable for our taste. The room had plenty of room, nice TV with Netflix/Hulu/etc. Large shower - 3 or 4 people could get in there if they were really friendly, but I showered by myself. Black-out curtains on the window so low light if you want to sleep during the day. I didn't look at the pool but the fitness room had a good assortment of exercise machines. The building is near new. It was quiet when we were there but I suspect it could be a bit noisy if crowded. There was a 5 yr old with huge stomping feet in the morning when they were going to the pool. It wasn't really a disturbance as we are used to having kids around but that is the reason I think it could get noisy at times here. I heard coyotes outside during the night but was too lazy to get up and try to see them. Breakfast was pretty decent for a free hotel breakfast. Yogurt, a couple of kinds of fruit, eggs & ham, hard boiled eggs, waffles, an assortment of juices - mostly stuff that comes off a truck, but filling and decent. I asked about discounts, veteran and senior, and was told the government price was $94 (regular price $79 or 74, not sure) and senior price was $67. I thought it weird that the government, or veteran, price was higher than regular price but didn't have time to discuss it. $67 was a great price for this hotel. If I need a hotel in Decorah again I'll...
