Culver’s — Restaurant in Decorah

Awesome food! Great staff!! Great franchise! I worked for Culver's 24 yrs ago in Prairie du Chien and Prairie du Sac, WI. I personally know and worked with Craig Culver (yes he's as Midwestern as tge commercials and an amazing person to learn from at the tender age of 16). Beyond that I have taken his leadership and guidance into my own adult life and have been successful.

This Decorah location is a flagship and pinnacle of representation of the Culver's family and I am fortunate to live within it vicinity.

Obviously everyone's tastes are different (my personal favs are the double bacon butterburger with the works and onion rings (real onions, not minced) and their spicy chicken with a cup of Craig's chili!) but there is a lil bit of everything to offer everyone regardless of age , sex, etc..

ONE MASSIVE point for me is their carefulness and diligence in food preparation and allergies (I'm extremely allergic to shellfish and peanuts and carry an epi pen) and in 24 yrs of both working there as a teenager and dining here as an adult with my family, I've NEVER had to use or be worried about it!!

With all that I can only suggest you sign up with Culver's online about 10 minutes before your visit so you and a friend can get a coupon for a buy one get one free value basket and free scoops of your favorite custard on your birthday and THEY DON'T spam the hell out of your email either like McDonald's, Burger King, etc....

Normally go with our dog through the drive-thru line and generally have a good time. They always give us a little dog treat and are serving with a smile, but this time we went they hardly spoke to us and were incredibly monotone and rude. They almost sounded upset for us to be there with our little pup. Not mentioning our pup at all or even acknowledging her as she was at the window of our car anticipating her treat, they didn't get one for her and just handed us our custard without a word and the servers looked even angry at us. I don't know if it was because of our dog or what but I worked in fast food for years and would always get excited when people brought pets through. Also it doesn't help that the dog treats they give are one of the main reasons we love to go there it's so unique!! However I'm mostly just bothered that they were so upset with us and all we got we're 2 custards on a slow day with our pup and now the experience is ruined and even our pup is sad. All this said. Culver’s in Decorah, Iowa, is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had! From the moment I walked in, Kristina and the entire staff were absolutely phenomenal—friendly, professional, and truly dedicated to making sure every customer had a great experience. Their positive attitudes and attention to detail made my visit exceptional.

Now, let’s talk about the cod sandwich—WOW! It was cooked to absolute perfection: crispy, golden-brown on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. The bun was fresh and soft, and the tartar sauce complemented the fish beautifully. Easily one of the best fish sandwiches I’ve ever had!

The service was fast, efficient, and beyond welcoming. The entire restaurant was spotless, and you could tell the team takes great pride in their work. Kristina and her crew deserve all the praise for making this Culver’s a must-visit spot.
