Lighthouse Inn was overall a great venue to host a wedding weekend. We would do it again! What really made our weekend memorable was being able to have all of our guests stay onsite. This allowed us to enjoy the grounds and spend time with our loved ones; we brought our own games in addition to what was provided by the Lighthouse Inn. The pool and beach were a huge hit for our guests. It felt like a vacation with the side of a wedding, which is exactly what we wanted – not to mention, the food all weekend (rehearsal and reception) was outstanding!
Reviews about different aspects below.
Rooms Tiana was outstanding! She was super accommodating, patient, and understanding as we had multiple room changes (especially getting close to the wedding due to COVID). The changes at times were complicated but she seamlessly updated the reservations. The accommodations were great from houses to cottages to individual rooms. The venue made sure to put our welcome bags in each room and if there was a problem, they responded promptly.
Planning Bill & Carri were amazing! They were so sweet and helpful guiding us through the wedding planning process. We were able to meet with them on several occasions in person and over the phone. Coming from out of state, they truly made the process smooth and alleviated our stresses.
Rehearsal Carri was great during the rehearsal; we had quite a few people to organize and she helped us rehearse quick! We had our rehearsal drinks and dinner at Lighthouse Inn and she wanted to make sure myself and my husband were able to get to the fun as quick as possible. We did stations for the rehearsal and the food was fantastic!
Day of Carri helped make sure guests found their seats at the same time as coordinating the groomsmen and bridal party. She was fantastic. The day before the wedding, we gave her all of our décor with instructions on where it should be placed and everything was exactly where it needed to be! The ceremony went smooth and quick, like we wanted.
A minor issue we faced was moving from the downstairs to the upstairs and back down again during various parts of the night. We knew this going into the wedding, so Lighthouse Inn isn’t at fault. As well, the upstairs room was on the warmer side; it didn’t help there was no...
Read moreMy husband and I got married at The Lighthouse Inn on Saturday June 16, 2018. We had both our ceremony and reception at the LHI, and the entire day could not have been more perfect. The weather was absolutely beautiful and the view of the ocean during our ceremony was stunning. Many of our guests had never been to Cape Cod before and they were all so impressed with the venue and scenery. Everything from the food, to the service, to the room accommodations was outstanding. Bill Sherman, the Food and Beverage Manager at the LHI (although he does much more than that), is very responsive to calls and emails and is also very attentive to detail. He made sure that everything my husband and I envisioned on our special day was fulfilled. All of the servers and staff throughout the weekend were very nice and attentive as well. I literally have nothing to complain about, which can be unusual for a bride! One "perk" that the LHI provides is that it offers many on-site rooms and cottages for guests to stay in throughout the weekend. This was not only convenient for guests with small children and mobility challenges, but it also provided a huge sense of relief knowing that people would not be drinking and driving, since they only had to walk a few yards to their rooms from the reception site. (There is also a playground and a swimming pool that guests can use throughout their stay.) I would recommend reserving rooms early on, though, as they do sell out fairly quickly. Tiana and Judith in the reservation office are very helpful with this. Another "perk" is that there is a cottage on site called The Lodge, which has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, as well as a living room area on the first floor. Many of my bridesmaids stayed here, and we also got ready here before the ceremony. The hair stylist, makeup artist, and photographers were able to set up and do their prep work in the living room, so all of us were able to get ready and take photos together. Overall, the LHI exceeded our expectations, and we are planning to come here for many anniversaries in the future. If anyone is looking for an oceanfront venue that is reasonably priced with excellent food, service, and attention to detail, the LHI is the...
Read moreWe attended a weekend wedding in June, 2018 at LI and stayed at a cottage there with our daughters for two nights. It is a perfect venue for a wedding, reunion, or any celebration function. What a beautiful spot and amazing view- right on the water of the West Dennis beach. This resort has everything right on its compound...tennis, an outdoor heated pool, playground, and the beach to swim and walk. There is free Wi-Fi, and a small evening bar (alcoholic drinks). You can also take a little tour of the Lighthouse, one of the first revolving ones built. The kids will enjoy that.
In addition to enjoying the inn, my husband and I ventured up to Provincetown for some gallery looking, shopping and lunch. Wonderful and only an hour's drive.
We ate at the inn and used the buffet offered for breakfast (it was very good) and sat outside overlooking the water. We cannot speak to dinners there because of the wedding dinner, but it, too, was good for a dinner of a large party.
I would have given the resort five stars but for the cottage general furnishings and a slight check in problem. Note: beds were comfortable and we slept well. But we had a cottage that needed newer furnishings. We had 4 adults and there really was not enough comfortable seating for all of us inside. The carpeting and couch/chair needs upgrading. I feel that the living room was very small and management should brick off the fireplace which was in an odd spot, add more seating, and bracket the TV up on the wall. There'd be much more space. This may not be a problem in the summer when folks are outside on their little patios but it was cramped for four of us.
Also, we had a bit of a mixup at check in. I had reserved a two bedroom two bath cottage on the inn's website many months in advance. When we arrived they had us booked for a one bathroom. That would never have worked. Thankfully they straightened it out for us.
The staff was extremely pleasant, the venue lovely and all was well cleaned and maintained. The inn interior is historic, and very lovely with antique Oriental Riggs and dark wood tones. We were pleased with our visit and pleased with the value we received for the cost...
