I needed a hotel while I was attending the White Out Football game at Penn State this weekend and this hotel had some availability. I read some reviews and was a little skeptical at first. I initially booked the comfort in that was further out but their customer service was horrible. So I picked Super 8! ||The customer service was spot on from when I called to checking in. GPS said the hotel was 30 min away from Penn State and the drive at night wasn’t too bad. The hotel is not like a traditional Super 8! It was more on the modern side and the rooms were also renovated to where it looked more like a hotel than a motel. There were minor things that could have been better but nothing that would make me leave. I didn’t trust the tub so I didn’t take a bath for a number of reasons.||The bed and pillows were super comfortable and I had the best sleep in a long time. I only needed the room for 1 night and it served its purpose. The hotel is kind of secluded but there were so many people staying there for the game that I felt comfortable and safe. The carpet in the hallway looked a little run down but the room looked great. My goal is to always stay near Penn State so I won’t have to drive far but sometimes those prices can be expensive. But if I can’t get a hotel near the state college then I would definitely recommend this place for a last min stay and I’d stay...
Read moreWe are local and having to stay in a motel while the floors in our home was being done was not on our list but had to. The staff was amazing and just so nice! The room was ok as there seem to have candy in the air conditner vent, staining around the tub drain and the bed was ROCK hard. We could hear the people above us very clear and also able to hear people in the other rooms through the hallway (Private Noises). Not that it botherd us we just was shocked that the rooms did not have a better set up with some sort of noise barrier. We was charged an extra $100 after booking online with a set rate when we arrived and was told that was because we was local. After asking why is that we found that we was charged this due to the locals coming in to do drugs and other crimnal activity at times. We paid and it was refunded. However I thought WOW! Good people are having to pay for others that intend to do bad things. But ok, what was we to do we already paid for the room. Breakfast was not what we expected. It was coffee (good), Juice (good), bagel/bread for toast, cearal, milk and a waffle machine. I guess staying in other motels at times breakfast had more to offer. I would stay there again as it was not the worst I have been and the staff was great! It was very clean other than the listed above. If your in the area I would say stop by this motel...
Read moreI have a few complaints about this hotel. The customer service here is completely unacceptable. The person that checked us in deleted our reservation as soon as we got there. Upon confirmation of our reservation being cancelled they proceeded to "hold" $90 on my debit card without prior notice. I notified the front desk staff that I wanted to speak with a manager on a Thursday evening. When I made this request the person working the front desk said that a manager would reach out to me the following day to resolve the issue. I NEVER received a call from a manager. On Friday evening, I alerted the staff that I did not receive a phone call from the manager and asked to speak to one directly. I was told that it was too late to contact a manager at that time and that my issue wasn't "urgent" enough to warrant a phone call. I did not accept this as a proper answer and refused to leave the from desk until a manager arrived. The front desk person on duty then threatened to call the police and have me arrested for harassment because I demanded to speak to a manager. Completely unacceptable. Only use this hotel as a last resort and even then you may be better off sleeping in your car in the parking lot. If I could give then a 0 out of 5 I most...
