I'll start this by saying it is the ONLY place in town and the employee at the desk was super smug about the fact.
Starting with the entrance, it's really only accessible from one direction, and the entrance is hidden behind the ice machine. The entrance from the other business's parking lot has giant potholes in it.
The woman at the desk refused to honor the quote for the room we got over the phone and charged for the most expensive room without asking if that was the room type we wanted.
Once we got to our room, the floors were filthy concrete tiles. Some of these creaked, cracked, and shifted underfoot. There was a giant gap under the door (explains the dirt ask over) that we had to block off with towels because you could hear everything, see the lights outside the room and smell people smoking in the parking lot. The AC unit wasn't flat against the wall, one corner always sticking out. It either ran all the time despite being on auto, and it froze the room, or turned off for long stretches and the room roasted before turning back on to keep the room at 72. The toilet wasn't attached to the floor and would shift and rattle around when you sat on it. The shower was cracked and peeling, and there was a section on the floor that felt like the flooring underneath was rotten and gone.
There's great water pressure, but there's no cold water, in fact, it's all just hot even from the sink.
Now for checkout, there's a key drop outside and since we had to leave early we used the key drop box. We'd been on the road for hours when this shady hotel tried to charge us fees (for what? We don't know, it was 2 of us, we cleaned the floors while we were there and we don't smoke) but the charges attempted amounted to $600 throughout the day. They NEVER attempted to contact us about any issues, they just tried to charge us in amounts varying from $50 to $250 with no explanation.
It's dirty, the woman at the desk is rude and they're scam artists. Don't waste your time or get caught in their money...
Read moreWe booked the Country Corner Inn hoping to find a nice place to stay and save some money, while visiting our kids. The musty smell of the house was the first indication that it was not a great place to stay. The air conditioner was not on when we arrived, so the room was warm. When I took off my shoes, my socks were immediately soaked in a third of the room, presumably from the air conditioner draining in the room. When I called the front office, I was told that they would take care of it the next day. Later, they moved us to another room which was supposed to be non-smoking. Then I noticed the ash tray on the bedside table. The same musty smell was in this room and there was a black ring of mold in the toilet. At that point, and after I had had a coughing spell with asthma, we got a refund and found a Best Western in the Medical Center, in case of more breathing problems. Found out the hard way, you get what you pay for!!! Note: The front office is locked and there is a small sliding glass window with which to talk to the front...
Read moreWe stayed here for two nights.||||The Good - If you need to stay in Devine or close by, this place works. Has necessary amenities, working cable TV, and nice outdoor area. The microwave and fridge are nice features. We did feel safe here too. AC worked just fine. Front desk people were nice and helpful. No iron in room, but they will loan you one.||||The not-so-good - the place was a little dirty. My wife cleaned up the bathroom and sink area. The bathroom had a hole in the ceiling where the bulb and fan were. When the shower was on in the room above us, water dripped through the ceiling. You can hear the cars on the highway continuously, but to be expected of an Inn that is right on the highway. You could hear anytime someone was walking in the room above you.||||You cannot access the Inn via the access road. Found this out the hard way.||||The price was just right and we did not want to stay further south or north so this was the perfect spot for us. We would...
