My experience at this location was absolutely horrible. I still itch and the smell was treacherous. There was a hole behind the showers sprayer that had small bugs in it. The furniture was falling apart. The bed sheets has cigarrette burn hole in them with hair stuck in the in the fabic of the green quilt like comforter. I changed my room from 203 non smoking room which had a very loud odor to 205 non smoking which had all the above mentioned. I was to tired and on a budget to go anywhere else and the college I was training at was right up the street given the Atlanta traffic problem. my bed sheets were extremely wrinkled and the AC unit was extremely loud when it cut on. There were tiny black bugs on the wall in the bath room and the electrical outlets where not secured to the wall properly. The noise outside was extremely loud all night and certain guest look like zombies walking back and forth on the property. I could here everything if the AC unit wasnt running from doors opening on the top level to people talking loudly. I refused to take a shower due to all the little hair and bugs in the bathroom, oh and also the hole in the wall behind the water sprayer in the shower. The online photos of these rooms are extremely misleading. There was no ironing boards look my stay was very disturbing and I still itch like crazy to the point my wife who reserved it for me felt so bad for me she cried. I only stayed because I was tired and didnt want to sleep in the car. I use to be a police officer in Atlanta and felt like this Motel 6 was one of those places I use to bust narcotics at. Once again I wasnt expecting what I walked into because of the misleading ratings and photos. The only thing I can say good about this stay was the lighting outside at night which provided lumination to deterre car theft and me waking up to see another day without an infectious disease. I literally had to spray everything down with lysol. Absolutely...
Read moreI've been working construction out of this motel for almost a year. It's convenient to most malls: Lenox Square, Phipps Plaza, even Mall of Georgia is 20-25min North. They recently raised rates by $5 because of Georgia law. The younger manager gave me a previous rate because of all the money I've spent there. I've no qualms with management, but they have to deal with some crazy folk so they may not always be in your corner. I've seen a man choke a woman in an SUV at 5am, a guy smash glass in the parking lot and then chase some other joker with a pole or something, many arguments, loud parties...and I've heard pistol shots on the regular. Prostitutes frequent the joint, and one guy bellowed, "I can get ya any girl you want; black, white, asian...you too, homie!" I smiled and did not reply. I don't care about that stuff because I'm used to it. Just keep to yourself and treat people with respect. Stay away from windows (if you lock your deadbolt no one can enter, as the previous poster complained about the maid barging in) and don't leave the room after the sun goes down! The rooms are remodeled with tongue and groove hardwood, flat screen HDTVs you can plug into, and the wifi is decent enough. The building has a sprinkler system which will protect in the event of a fire. I'll end with a quote from TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze: Michelangelo: "Well, it ain't the Hilton! Hmm...let's face it. You'd be better off staying at the Hilton...mm." PS The fridge and microwave often don't work because their outlet is wired to the GFCI by the sink. If you reset it, they will work. Hopefully the owners will replace some of those units because they are outdated and crusty. I believe they just replaced the TVs initially and will update it once they make money. As far the criminal element...God help them. They need 24/7 armed security. This is Atlanta,...
Read moreThe first room we were given was a "Non-Smoking" room but it had obviously been smoked in, I had started to get a headache within moments of entering. At the gentlemen gave me a second room immediately.
List of dirty things in the 2nd room: Sheets Blankets Walls Pillows Tub Under the AC unit
Most of these things could have been taken care of had they just been cleaned properly, and dust was simply swept under the AC unit. It was simply unacceptable.
Parking is difficult, at best considering the spacing/distance between lines. The building as a whole is largely in disrepair; stairs are cracked and horribly uneven in spots. I'm glad I was able to climb up to my room with luggage without falling although I cannot say the same for other guests.
The WiFi at the very least was manageable, besides this and the customer service, they were the only good things about this location.
While it's not likely to be helped, the other clientele was simply shady at best. Most kept to themselves, and were quiet most of the time (luckily at night) but during the day they let their kids play in the parking lot as cars were driven in. A child was left in a car to honk repeatedly for 45+ minutes. I know these things aren't at fault with the hotel, but given the location, people need to know what they might be getting themselves into.
If you're in desperate need of a place to sleep, and you have the $70 to burn, go further down I-85. You'll find better hotels for...
