This inn is an amazing place to stay, especially if you’re planning to ski at Mount Snow—it’s only a 10-minute drive away! Perfect for those who love to sleep in before hitting the slopes.
The inn has a very warm and cozy atmosphere, with each room uniquely decorated. The room we stayed in had a beautiful blue-green theme. You can check out more photos of the different rooms on their website or Google Maps. The overall style feels like a mix of American and British countryside charm.
One of the thoughtful touches here is that the toiletries are from L’Occitane, and they even provide small resealable bags so you can take any unused products with you—such a nice detail!
Breakfast is included, but it’s made-to-order! The orange juice is freshly squeezed, the Greek yogurt is organic, the jam is locally sourced, and the omelet is absolutely delicious. The sourdough bread is incredibly fragrant!
The dining area is stunning—there’s a warm fireplace, elegant cabinets displaying British-style dishware, and all the tables are set facing the windows, giving you a perfect snowy view. The background music is light and classical, mostly Mozart, which made me feel like a European princess enjoying a royal breakfast!
They also offer homemade cookies all day in three different flavors. Even though they are classic American-style sweet cookies, the oatmeal raisin one was surprisingly good!
I should have mentioned this first, but the inn has an adorable little dog! On our first day, it quietly lay at my feet the entire time we were eating—never begging for food, just occasionally strolling over to the window to watch the snow.
The owners of the inn are incredibly kind and welcoming! There’s a sweet elderly lady with a British accent who took care of us, making sure we were comfortable, asking if we needed more tea or coffee, and checking if our room was warm enough.
Very very decent price as well. Although the mountain is closed one day, but this inn makes the...

We stayed here for our second anniversary from January 3-6, 2021. We quarantined in our home for 7 days and came straight to VT with a negative test. Wwe wanted to ski and snowboard at Mount Snow's and have room for takeout. We found the perfect place.
We reserved and stayed in the Dahlia room, which is a well appointed room when the feel of a cabin. A rainfall shower, gas fireplace, and french doors that lead to a sitting area on the deck. The morning view of the snow couldn't be any more quaint.
The room is actually quite warm (and insulated!). We had the thermostat set at 55 the whole time. The gas fireplace and ceiling fan kept is quite cozy. There were times we cracked the door to let the winter air in!
The bathroom and shower were spacious. The tub has jets and fit one adult nicely. The towels was super soft!!
The inn has several common areas. Although they may be off limits during covid, mid week there are not many guests, so there is a chance to use them to eat or relax if you need more space. There is a library, two giant family rooms, and the dining space There's probably more on the third floor, but we didn't explore there!
The innkeepers are Ariane and Scott, who are marvelous. They provide breakfast every day. The pancakes, yogurt, and other choices were great. The scones are amazing!!
They normally have a dinner service on weekends but it is suspended during Covid-19. However, there are plenty of great takeout options in West Dover and Wilmington. We recommend Dover Forge and Anchor Seafood, the latter also having limited dine in seating.
EV friends - there is a Tesla charger and J1772 charger on site.
The inn is a literal 5 minute drive to the Sundance lot of Mount Snow and 7 minutes to the main lot. It's 30 minutes from Brattleboro and 40 months to Bennington.
We are already planning our return in the late part of winter and we have already recommended this place to...
Read moreWe just returned from a lovely weekend getaway at Deerhill Inn! This was our first visit, but will not be our last! It was stunning in winter and I can only imagine how beautiful it is in every season.
The whole visit was wonderful. We stayed in the Apple Blossom room which had it's own cozy fireplace and plenty of space to make ourselves at home. We woke up to an incredible view of the snowy mountains. Breakfast each morning was delicious.
Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and kind. Ariane is the perfect innkeeper - so friendly and personable. Scott was cheerful every time we crossed paths. Josie, the Miniature Schnauzer (hypoallergenic), was a delight and put a smile on our faces whenever she scurried through a room or sat with us by the fire.
In addition to our own comfortable room, the Inn has two sitting rooms, both with wood burning fireplaces, a library, an adorable little bar with a good wine selection, and a library. We enjoyed peaceful evenings reading and chatting in each of these locations.
There are dozens of delicious restaurants nearby, as well as skiing and hiking trails (for walking, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing).
I look forward to our next visit!
The daytime photos are from our room, the night photo is looking up...
