Location: Excellent for skiing at Mt. Snow. Route 100 between the North and South access roads. Can see the mountain from the rear of the Inn. Rear exit from the parking lot behind the Inn leads to back road which connects to the access roads. Five minutes (if that) to the parking lot of the mountain.||Accommodations: room (Garden Room #3) very spacious and bright and cheery. Queen size bed. Decent mattress. Good size en suite bath with more than enough fluffy towels. Small personal TV (although huge screen TV in common lounge area). All very clean.||Breakfast: continental, leaving a bit to be desired, but sufficient quantity. Consisted almost exclusively of carbs: white and wheat bread, variety of bagels, toaster waffles, store-bought, individually-wrapped muffins, cold cereal in individual boxes, oatmeal pouches (just add hot water); yogurt, three juices, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk. Monday morning there were hard boiled eggs. Tuesday morning, no eggs. When we asked about the eggs, the inn keeper said his order didn't arrive until Thursday. What? Someone can't go to the local market for a few dozen eggs? Wednesday morning, some bananas showed up. No fresh fruit before then. So breakfast was a mixed bag. Adequate for our needs, though.||Summary: if you aren't looking for a hot, cooked to order gourmet breakfast, definitely lodging to consider. In fact, of the three places we've stayed in West Dover over the past three years, this is the one to which we...
Read moreAside from the very strange check-in process, the beds are NOT sleep-able - a sleeping bag would have been better! No extra blankets or pillows (even in January). The walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything that is going on in your neighbors rooms. The bright light outside our room's window illuminated our room the entire night. There are no TV's in your rooms, so forget about being snowed in. The room doors are similar to a bedroom door, only 1 lock on the handle, no deadbolt or chain inside so it did not feel secure either.||||The house is also very very old, which means it is loud and creaky at night - especially when the heat is on in the winter. This typically is not an issue for me, but if you are already struggling to sleep then it will get under your skin even more. ||||We did not sleep a wink all night, literally have never had such a bad experience. We ended up turning around and driving the 5 hours home as soon as the sun came up. Was not issued a refund for the days we did not stay, the manager's explanation is that it was, "not their fault." I did not bother pushing it any further as the "manager" is not concerned with customer service or reputation. ||||A HUGE waste of money and time. I wish I could just forget about this horrible experience. Very disappointing for a holiday weekend we were looking forward to. SAVE YOURSELF A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and don't bother...
Read moreVermont has such a beauty to it and this area captures that wonderfully ! Staying here was spectacular as it not only has views of the mountain and skii lifts but has such a unique tranquility to it. The staff are so amazingly kind and helpful and genuine. Makes you feel like they actually care about your stay instead of just getting paid. We came here for an event and it was amazing to be in the beautiful space with everyone. The atmosphere on the back patio deck was amazing to have a second space to relax and be present with everyone here. Getting to meet the owners you really feel what it is they are trying to PROVIDE to you in your stay here rather than what they get from you staying here.
The beds are SO comfortable and the pillows put me to sleep. If you’re looking to host an event here this truly is a beautiful and magic place to be with groups and friends / family.
Comparing to adjacent options it was a no brainer to stay here. I am so happy we brought our group to stay here and got to enjoy the amazing atmosphere they have created.
10/10 recommend this place. We are planning another event here tentative for later this year with another community of ours. Thank you @theinnatmountsnow for the amazing stay and ALL THE WORK you have put in to this amazing re-creation of such a beautiful building in an amazing...
