TRAVELER BEWARE: DO NOT STAY AT THIS LOCATION!! MULTIPLE ISSUES. I stayed here long-term while some work was being done to my home up north. It was nothing but issues from start to finish. Upon check-in, I was told my reservation had been canceled. I did not request to cancel my reservation. I was given a much smaller room than I had originally reserved. The GM could not explain why my original reservation had been canceled. The refrigerator in my room was not working. I brought this to the attention of the manager, who came to my room, touched the items I had just gotten from the market, and insisted my items were cold and my refrigerator was working fine. I had to throw hundreds of dollars' worth of food away because it went bad in the fridge; the GM insisted it was in excellent working order. It took 6 weeks for maintenance to determine that it was broken and needed to be replaced. Cockroach infestation is awful. There were roaches in my newborn's bed. I complained, and nothing was done by management. My car was broken into twice. My insurance documents, as well as a temporary driver's license, were stolen from my vehicle. The 2nd time, my car was broken into, and a marijuana cigarette was left in my backseat. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I am a Registered Nurse, and I work from home for an online telehealth platform. While in a Zoom meeting, a man clearly on some type of drugs attempted to break into our room. When he saw that he could not push past my husband or two big dogs, he ran down the stairs and took off. This was reported to the front desk staff, and it was downplayed as “an honest mistake”. This was tough to explain to my employer as it was happening live on camera for the entire company to see. The GM asked us not to call the police because it would "be a bad look" to the other guests. On Father’s Day weekend, my husband was assaulted by another guest for absolutely no reason. I had a run-in with the same guest just 2 days prior. My 16-year-old son was visiting and took my dog out. He came back in very quickly, looking extremely disturbed, and reported that “some weird old white guy” had offered him beer and told him he had to come to his room to get the beer. I went outside and told him that he needed to stay the hell away from my son, or I was going to call the cops. 2 days later, my husband came into the room, stating he had just been assaulted. He pointed the guy out, and it was the same guy who was trying to give my child alcohol and get him into his room. This was reported to the front desk, and for once, the right thing was done, and he was asked to leave. However, my son was still sexually harassed by a weirdo, and my husband was still assaulted. We were out of town from 07/03/2025- 07/10/2025, checking on the progress of our house up north. When we returned, we noticed several missing items from our room. It was designer brand items such as Victoria's Secret bras, Louis Vuitton purses, tools, car parts, electronics, and even baby items such as clothes and diapers. We had cameras in the room and saw staff members lying in our bed, going through our things, and removing items from our room while we were gone. We filed a police report with Durham Police, demanded to speak to somebody from their corporate office, and refused to pay them another dollar until we talked to a corporate contact about the matter. The GM refused to allow us to speak to anyone above her and illegally deactivated our key, locking our dogs, our child's medicine, and all our belongings inside the room. Legal Aid of Durham advised me that this was highly illegal because we had been there for over 4 months and were considered residents and not guests. I contacted a close family friend with the Durham City Council, and they are investigating the practices at this hotel. She has also put us in touch with an excellent attorney who is helping us file civil charges to recoup the money spent moving after the lockout. If you are a decent family or someone traveling for business, save yourself the headache and...
Read moreBooked several nights at this hotel for my father. He was having some medical treatments done. I needed to extend the reservation for him, but was traveling at the time and because I couldn’t physically get into the hotel they told me to fill out their online authorization form. This was an online form and I received no copy confirming this and what details I had entered. I completed it to note specific dates as instructed. At the very end of the day, I was called and that the card was being declined and that my father would be forcibly removed from the hotel.. A fraud alert had been issued on the card which I later came to understand was because someone at the hotel was not only charging the card for the room but also making charges for additional nights as well. These were being done through a booking site for the same hotel, and I had not shared the card information with anyone else. I tried to find a solution with Kim, the manager, but she refused to help me, continue to raise her voice while beating and treating me in an intensely disrespectful. She threat to call the police and have my father physically removed from the hotel. I explained again that I was trying to work this out with them, not knowing what had caused the car to be declined at that time, and also that the $100 deposit that I paid at check-in would have covered the one night they were owed. This is incredulous behavior given the circumstances. I asked why she wouldn’t work with me to resolve the issue and was met with additional threats that all calls were recorded and could be turned over to the police for prosecution. I dropped everything and got my dad from the hotel to take him to another one and he was standing on the curb with his belongings as they had already removed him. I filed a formal complaint at the corporate level, which was ignored. They also claimed they did nothing wrong after I filed one with a Better Business Bureau. But it took that to even get the deposit back. Clearly, I will escalate this as far as it needs to go the treatment of myself, and my father is bad enough. But they seem to feel they are free for wrongdoing because the form contains language stating I will not file a fraud claim against them for any reason. We’ll see about that! Moreover, my father called me a couple times to ask for insect killer or bait traps as his room had a bug problem. He said he called the front desk twice, and no one came to take care of it. When I entered the hotel on a few occasions prior to His unnecessary removal, there were very have you sent from people cooking all through the hallways and the room itself smelled very misty. The booking site only hides behind hotel policies so they are no help...
Read moreWorst hotel experience I have EVER HAD!!!!!! I made a reservation online almost an hour before arrival. Once I arrived (1145 -12 that night), there were people sitting in the lobby angry because they had been waiting for 20 minutes with no one coming to the desk. I sat down and waited.... and waited... and waited. After 45mins of no sight of an employee and attempting to use the phone by the front desk several times to ring the staff, I called Extended Stay 1-800 number. They put me on hold for 20 minutes while they try to figure out the problem. They were unable to get in touch with night staff and before the issue could be resolve the call was disconnected. I waited another 10 mins, then I called back. After being on hold another 15mins, the rep filed a corporate complaint and made a reservation at the next Extended Stay literally a 3 minute drive down the street. I got to that location and no one was at the desk. I picked up the phone to ring the night staff. This lady answered and told me she had to go the other Extended Stay down the street (the one I came from ) to figure out what was going on…. Great just my luck. She said she would be back ASAP. After 45 minutes she returns (it’s now been over 2 hours) and checks me in and gives me my room. I go to the room extra tired but happy that I can finally go to sleep. I open the door and the room is a mess. Room had not been cleaned from the last occupant. Go down stairs and get my room changed. This new room was cleaned but the towel and sheets look like they had not been washed. They seriously had smudges and stains on them! I slept on top of the covers, fully clothed and dried off from my shower using a clean t-shirt. This was by far the worst experience at a hotel I...
