Overall, we were excited that a new vendor is taking over this space near our office. However, there is a lot of low hanging fruit to make this place better. This review is being compiled after several visits and is meant to be constructive as there is a lot of potential here for greatness. It’s decent, don’t get me wrong but not a 5 star experience. First of all: no iced coffee, just cold brew. And the cold brew is sour. Plus you do not get to determine how much cream goes in your coffee AND you get charged for adding cream. I’d like to be able to pour my own cream as the balance is important and different for everyone. Except for mocha, their syrup flavors are weak. Again, could just be a balance problem here. Second: food prices are a bit steep. I understand sourcing things locally, so good on them. However, the burrito is probably the best bang for your buck. Steer clear of the green smoothie bowl as it tastes solely of ginger and avocado. Additionally, biscuit is very salty… Third: espresso shot is sour and disappointing. PROS: Staff here have always been kind and pleasant. Everything looks beautiful. Would just like the taste and quality of coffee to match.
Review update: overall, F&F has really dialed in their espresso machines (based on taste) from when they first opened. Their espresso and drinks are now reliable and consistently good. I still hold that some of the food items could be improved upon, but this is a very solid coffee shop! Thank you for taking the community’s feedback and here’s to...
Read moreModern and comfortable space. Good balance between greenery and industrial deco and finishing. Great lighting and high roof making it really spacious. Lovely greetings by the ladies at the bar.
I was tempted by the Ruben but glad I went with the Turkey and pear sandwich like everyone else suggested. It was the bomb. Perfect balance between sweet and savory. A hint of heat and cinnamon coming from the pear chutney, with subtle notes of havarti cheese. Love the whole grain mustard pop here and there. Bread was nicely toasted with butter, great crunch (got cuts in my mouth but that’s my problem coz of sensitive gum and palate). Citrusy dressing on the arugula was a good finish to clean the palate.
Rosemary Lavender latte with only 2 pumps of syrup was just right for my Asian sweetness meter. Nothing overpowering each other.
Chef’s kiss!
1 star knocked off coz they started cleaning the window next to me with Windex while I was finishing off. I could smell and see the spray drippings going into my mug 🥲. Would’ve loved to sit around and absorb some vitamin D a...
Read moreI don't usually leave reviews, but I loved this shop so much that I had to leave one! You can tell that the owners, staff, and chefs care about what they create here and ensure everything that comes out is quality food and drink. Did I mention that the food is sourced locally throughout the Triangle region of North Carolina? Like, holy smokes, you can tell a difference.
The baristas also serve up some stellar latte art, which always makes the drink tastier! If you are a fan of sweet coffee drinks, the syrups they have on hand are homemade!! I got the iced vanilla oat milk latte, and I swear it tastes like cereal milk; I wasn't able to get a picture because I drank it so fast but I will get another one next time for sure!
I also had the Reuben sandwich, which has now been deemed the best Reuben I've ever had! The sauerkraut is homemade and infused with duck fat, and the rye bread was so fresh (which is also from Union Special Bread in...
