Maverick Inn — Hotel in Eagle Pass

It was pretty cheap at $50. ||The room is pretty spacious. I like that it has tile floors. The room had two beds. Both very comfortable with clean bedding. The mattress had a mattress cover. The pillows were a little too firm for my liking. ||The restroom was clean. The towels were thin and rough. Take your own toiletries as the ones provided are pretty low quality. The water pressure in the shower was appropriate and they had hot water. ||The room comes with a fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron and ironing board||They have breakfast in the morning that is included in the room prices. Breakfast was cereal, mini donuts, toast, muffins, juice and coffee. ||If you’re a light sleeper, you definitely will need earplugs. If you’re close the street, you will hear the cars and dogs barking. ||The staff was nice and even got us rooms next to each other. ||This is by no means a luxury hotel and I didn’t expect that. Most rude staff I’ve ever met. Front desk worker was the most rude individual I’ve encountered in the service industry. Very weird too that with all the other places full, there was only one car in the lot. Recommend avoiding at all costs. UPDATE: their view I was “rude” is because I asked why they charged more than my online reservation was for. My “threat” was I told them I would be leaving them a negative review. Never once did I ask to stay for free. In fact, they charged my card. I can post the receipt. Their response makes it clear I dodged a bullet not staying here. The Room itself was clean the beds were comfortable. However in I'm not sure if this was because of the neighborhood where the hotel is located but there were people yelling at all hours of the night. Keep in mind this was a Monday night, not a Friday or Saturday. Also a strong wind came through and there is apparently something loose somewhere in banging was heard in the early hours and also the garbage truck came through at an ungodly early hour with its whistles and Bells. Not a good night sleep at all. Mainly out of necessity to not drive into Mexico at a late hour at night but I would rather sleep in my car at Walmart...
