The first thing that really gets under my skin is their staff coming in our room at 9:00 this morning just opening the door and walking in we had forgot to flip the latch but still would have woke us up either way and we work at night mostly. They want to halfway clean the rooms and don't really want to do their job at 90% of these hotels, but definitely don't mind disturbing you first thing in the morning when you're paying a lot of money for these rooms. I know things are hard for everyone so I won't be to hard but as a business owner I know the sacrifice my wife and I make everyday to provide a quality service when so many are part of the "don't want to work movement". I found the General Manager today to be very rude and unapologetic for his demeanor. My wife and I had already checked out and I had went back inside through the front to use the restroom. Brandon Markle the general manager stopped me and asked me how he can help and I said we had already checked out and I needed to use the restroom and then he proceeded to ask me what room I was in and what the last name was on the room. I told him and then he told me that wasn't my room but I could use the restroom and told me where the restroom was located. I said I know where the restroom is and yes that was my room and he tried to deny that's what he said and told me that I was asking him where the restroom was. I never asked him that question. I'm sorry but I am very busy and I don't have time for this kind of behavior I felt like he was being problematic on purpose and maybe didn't believe me because my wife is black and I am white and he hadn't met me yet. I'm leaving this post because I am tired of this arrogant disrespectful Behavior from people especially when they are ungrateful to a person that is paying them money for a service. I don't need this service this type of behavior makes me not want to stay at any hotels anymore. I would rather sleep in my truck and take a shower in a Truck Stop than support this kind of organization. My wife and I stay in a lot of hotels and it's a lot of this type of behavior and lack of cleanliness and dishonesty and has drove me to find other remedies when on the road like our own commodities and housing. Moral of the story is Marriott you need to do a better job with your quality control in upper management it's not fair to the employees under these managers when they're abusing their power. I will say when I came in late last night and the black female in the lobby I encountered was very friendly and polite. She was very respectful and was doing her job very well from...
Read moreWe had a room with 2 Queen beds. We were in town to explore MSU campus. Location in relation to campus is good. 30 minute walk to the shopping district. Room was very nice...we were pleasantly surprised by how large it was. Big walk-in closet, lounge/sitting area separate from beds with sliding partition over desk to use for privacy between the two areas. small fridge and microwave were handy. My only complaints were:
This is a new hotel with modern decor. It was clean and quiet. We stayed only one night and had no inconvenience there. In fact, we were quite pleased with the room's interior, especially the large, beautiful bathroom. I was a bit put off by the fact that there was a covered, bounded area adjacent to the building and close to the building's main entrance with a number of people smoking in it. This was my first sight approaching the building. I feel that if the hotel describes itself as "smoke-free" (see hotel description in Expedia) then smoking should not happen anywhere on the premises, including areas that are adjacent to the main structure. There should be a perimeter around the structure delineating the entirety of the premises, so people know not to smoke within that region.
