A emergency situation happened to where I needed to get a hotel room for night. I booked through a third party because it is cheaper and my funds were limited. Apparently I booked a room that was an accessible room (guest that use a wheelchair). When checking in I was told that they couldn’t allow me to use the room since it was reserved for guest that use a wheelchair only. Which I completely understand point blank. I then was told that if they wanted to check me into another room it would be an upgrade charge. I asked them if they could just check me in but give me a different room regardless if it was downgraded (king bed to queen bed). They stated they couldn’t do that because in the system it has to show that if I booked that room then I should be checked into that room. Again I completely understand for lots of reasons. Since my booking was non refundable the only thing they could do was to charge an upgrade for another room. Which I then asked what would be included in the upgrade and they said it would be the same room no upgrade just a room that was not reserved for guest in a wheelchair. Which I thought I’m sure the system would allow a room change without the need to charge an upgrade. But I paid the upgrade which was fourteen and some change. The reason I bring this is up is because if everything in the system has to match correctly why was I assigned room number 341 but on the receipt (which I had to ask for) it shows room number 336 (see pictures below). That’s basically doing what I had asked if they could do that in the first place. So I feel the upgrade charge was just redundant. Then I was told there was a deposit fee, which I wasn’t aware of nor did the third party notify me until after I had already booked (I only noticed because it only said that on the email they send after you book the room, so I guess that’s the third party’s booking fault or mine). The only reason I mention the deposit is that they told me when I check out they would send someone to the room to verify everything was okay and I would get my deposit back. No problem. Once the morning came I went downstairs to go and let them know I was checking out and that the room was ready to be inspected and I will wait here until they were finished. The front desk associate, which was the same one that checked me in the night before gave me the okay and said I would be getting my deposit back. I still haven’t gotten my deposit back and looking at my banking statements it went from pending to cleared. I don’t understand, I know I didn’t damage the room in any way. They inspected it and gave me the okay that I was getting my deposit back. So I’m confused and I feel like they were charging me every little thing they could charge me for (The room “upgrade”).
I understand that this hotel is know for criminal activity taking place, and that they are trying to change that to which I am completely in favor of.
But charging guest just to rack up the bill and keeping the hotel deposit when you let the guest know they would be getting it back is definitely not the way to...
Read moreAbsolute health hazard to the public. My first day of checking in, I observed the Night Shift front desk receptionist yelling and arguing with another guest (this is completely unprofessional). I then find out that I would be put into a smoking room. Fortunately the receptionist offered to put me into a non smoking room. Thank you for salvaging a disappointing stay.
I stayed here for 5 days, on my stay, I observed lots of insects from cockroaches, flies, ants, crawling near the bed and on the wall. Cracked walls with dead insects, inconsistent water pressure from the sink, toilet, and shower. Sometimes the water would not turn on in either the sink and/or the shower. The toilet would not flush at times either just to name a few. I’ve had sleepless nights the whole time staying here. Deplorable living conditions.
Housekeeping was fairly consistent in their servicing of the rooms, however they did not service my room for 1 day. The microwave and television constantly lost power due to old and worn electrical outlets. The electrical outlets are so worn that you have to unplug the power plugs and plug them back in repeatedly with pressure so the microwave and tv can stay on. The wifi constantly shuts off. You will need to beg the front desk for the password (at times I was given an incorrect password).
Unfortunately, this was the only hotel I could afford to stay at. The hotel and rooms are very worn down, the staff is unprofessional and rude, and the constant presence of insects, lack of proper water pressure, worn electrical outlets, are not worth staying here. I will be escalating my complaints to corporate, the local health board and state agency regarding my stay here. I do not recommend this hotel as it is a serious health hazard and...
Read moreThis was a horrible experience, we had booked a room online through Expedia with 2 queen beds and selected the "wheelchair accessible" option since we have a person who's paralyzed and needs access to the room and restroom. When we arrived the front desk told us that the wheelchair accessible rooms only hand one queen bed, since we are 4 we couldn't possibly fit in 1 queen bed we asked to see the room with 2 bed (which wasn't wheelchair accessible) to see if the person in wheelchair could manage, but they couldn't. Since we had already paid for 7 nights we asked the front desk what to do they told us to call Expedia and cancel the reservation. We called Expedia and days inn customer service, Days Inn customer service told us that it was the managers job to relocate us or find a way to accommodate us. Expedia told us that they couldn't do much other than refund the full amount but we had been looking around for a place to stay and we weren't going to go and drive around under the 98° sun with kids to find another place to stay. We asked the front desk if we could stay 1 night and get the money back for the others and the manager told us and I quote "no you guys have 5 minutes to decide either you leave the room right now or you stay tonight but you'll be charged for the 7 nights either way" that is ridiculous! I paid for something that THEY didn't have and now they're timing me to either leave or pay 7 nights worth to stay only one night... we called customer service again and a "Robert Rihalva" answered and told us that there was nothing to do just to cancel the reservation and make a new reservation for only one night he was very rude and pretty much told us that it was our fault and that they are doing us a "big" favor to let us...
