Budget Inn — Hotel in Elizabeth

This is by far the worse motel I have ever stayed at. First off I don’t expect much from motels but having working things and customer service is key which is what they didn’t have. From the moment I got in they were complaining about where to put my car the husband seemed to be fine with it the but the wife kept complaining. Every time I came to get something from the car she asked me to move it. The water was not working, there was no hot water at all. I brought this to their attention the day before in which they did nothing about it until the next morning when I kept harassing them. They kept saying they would bring the maintance guy but kept sending other family members. Second off someone was able to open the door guessing an employee and let’s just say he came in at the wrong moment being that I was with my husband. To make matters worse the tv wasn’t working which I didn’t care too much about but it was a problem when they came knocking at 10 at night demanding that I open the door so they can throw a cable line at 10 at night. I’m guessing other guest tv were also not working. So I finally open the door and no one is there. I guess the cable guy is fixing other people tv. Had me waiting until midnight and they came into the room. The whole entire time I was telling them that it didn’t matter. I mean I understand they have to fix the problem in general but to knock on my door at such a late hour and then have me waiting two hours. Funny story the tv was working for only an hour after that! This place is trading off the Budget Inn name, but is actually called the Budget Inn Motel (I got it from Booking.com to replace a" ïnexpensive" one, I'd booked in Avenel , which would've cost me $120 roundtrip for the taxi from Newark Int'l)! The cab driver couldn't find it with his GPS from the airport and over charged me for his nervous dilemmas (well gee, no tip huh?). He was Haitian (i'm a French Interpreter), "He'd been here since'78, but believe me trying to get the lady at the hotel to explain how to find it was insane, since her English was extremely poor. He basically dumped me here, giving me a blank receipt. Everything else was full nr the airport. I was scared, but I said , "well better than sleeping in the airport". The "reception"was tiny and like one of those glassed in windows in Law and Order. The room was smoking!!! Yuck. It was relatively clean, but I put a chair with a suitcase nr the door (it wasn't tall enough to block the handle ). I slept with a light on all night! i'm allergic to polyester, but at least the sheets were clean and soft, so I did sleep. God was I glad when the taxi , I ordered came the next morning. I tried to turn off the Today Show and kept getting porn. The neighborhood had seemed scary the night before and ... even in the daylight, it pretty much was. Am I glad I...

Horrible stay ... But my issues are only from the owners and employees. I booked online with a card ... But I called ahead to make sure I could pay cash. Was told that fine . Get there and the front desk cleark is livid that we booked online but want to pay cash there. That my first issue ... I pay cash which 7 bucks higher than the booked room ... ( Yes I noticed she ran it up a few dollars , I like businesses with integrity) she kept arguing with my guest that I can't park on the lot when I wasn't trying to ... I was parking in the street ...

Day three is check out which is at 11 ... I'm sleep when I hear two knocks and the same front desk clerk comes trying to push the door lucky I had the chain attached. I was literally naked I hoped up and closed it before she could see anything. She scream check out time. It's was 10:23 ... Check out is hat 11:00 ... In the hospitality business u should at least make a call ... No knocks should have come until at least after 11... They employees are unprofessional , rude , and did not make my stay comfortable at all. I am truck driver so those precious times to rest is needed ... Horrible experience.
