Booked through Expedia for the first time, thought I had entered in the amount of guests( 2 adults 3 children). showed up to check in and the front desk guy was very nice and helpful. My wife went to the car to get the kids and when she came in the owner immediately changed her tone. she said you booked for 2 you can not stay with 5 people. we said okay that was our mistake we can cancel. she said no you won't be able to find anywhere else I will just have to charge you 25 per guest, we agreed but she was till rude. she kept saying well we can't sleep 5 in here. then she changed her mind and said we will get 2 cots . we thought everything was fine then she came in the room asking if we could put the kids in another room , mind you we have a 12, 8 , and 1 year old, my wife was trying to explain to her that the baby would sleep in the bed with us but she slammed the door in her face. After being treated like we were unwelcome we decided to leave because we didn't want to be somewhere where we felt uncomfortable and unwanted. We felt bad because the front desk was very nice and he was trying to help. After we left I called Expedia to get my money back or at least explain the situation. I really didn't care about the money but she left a bad taste in my mouth and was extremely rude to my family. The agent on the phone then called the property to make sure it was cancelled and the owner told her that we are not to try to book at that property again. Trust me she has nothing to worry about we would rather...

Read moreThis place is a gem! If you’re staying in Elizabethtown or even Fayetteville or other nearby area, you must try to stay here. The home is beautiful with beautiful gardens, furniture and art. Christine even has these really cool artistic photographs of her family’s travels. She is so friendly and hospitable and makes a really yummy and filling breakfast. We stayed in the Thornton room, which is very spacious with a sitting area, a desk and a spacious bathroom. There’s a jacuzzi tub and a fireplace, although I don’t think the fireplace is functional. I am really impressed with the quality of the furniture. I suppose some may consider it old fashioned, but they’re all superb quality and beautifully maintained. There is a four poster bed in the Thornton room and a beautiful armoire. The front porch is a welcome spot to relax, with rocking chairs and an ashtray for smokers. There’s even a piano in the foyer. I just can’t get over how pleasant our stay was. I compare it to the Broadmoor, a five-star hotel in Colorado, but at a fraction of the price. We live nearby and will be making this our little getaway spot for as...
