We called ahead of time before booking to confirm that the hotel had a crib (we have a 4 month old baby). They said they did, so we didn’t think there would be any issues. We arrived around midnight because of some travel delays, checked in with no issues, and got up to our room. The room itself was mostly clean (there was definitely some dirt on the floor but nothing crazy). However, the real problem began when we opened up the pack and play crib. It was covered in feces and vomit stains. I’ve never seen anything so disgusting in a hotel. It was completely unsafe for anyone to handle, let alone a baby to sleep in. I don’t know how it managed to stay in circulation so long. We called the front desk and requested a new crib, and after about 30-45 min of waiting and trying to figure out what we were going to do, we were informed that there are no extra cribs in the hotel, and there are no cribs at any of the sister properties in the local area. I don’t blame the receptionist - she did everything she could in a timely manner. At this point there were no open wal marts or other stores to buy a pack and play, so we called around to a bunch of hotels and eventually went to the holiday inn across the street where we finally found a crib that was safe and clean for our baby. Because of this disaster, I, my wife, our 4 month baby and our 3 year old son did not actually get to bed until about 3 am after a full day of travel delays and complications. This was probably the worst experience I’ve ever...

I haven't been to this particular HGI in two years due to suspended business travel by my employer. I wanted to stay here as I had in the past due to knowing it was clean and had all of the amenities that I require. However, I was disappointed in several areas which includes housekeeping, cleanliness of the rooms and the dining experience. I was not greeted as an HHonors member. Also, I had to ask for my free bottles of water. Then the manager noted that housekeeping is by request only now. This is not a huge issue but once I got to the room there were several bathroom items missing. I had to go to the front desk to get the items. The shower head in room 103 is not good and very low pressure. The sink was slow to drain. As for dining, I like to order room service and that was not available either. The breakfast each morning was hit or miss with either a buffet style or ordering. I know things have changed in the world but I was disappointed in how much the hotel has changed for the worse. When I come back to the area in a couple of months I may...

Felt clean, bed was comfy. First desk clerk was nice. But besides that ran into a sleuth of problems over 2 nights. 1st night, turned on TV and it wasn’t working. Finally figured out coaxial was connected. Tried calling front desk about it and none of the buttons worked (front desk, room service) and finally figured out that pressing 0 got you to someone. Later, had troubles with AC not staying at the temp I set(69 degrees). I had to keep adjusting temp multiple times throughout night. Finally on 2nd night, AC went out @ 1 pm. Called front desk and clerk was less then apologetic to begin. I get it’s not her fault but it is her job to provide customer service. She did finally apologize when I went down to get my new room keys. **P.S. the tv system is pretty archaic. To view the tv lineup, you have to go through about a 4 step process. Doesn’t list the shows either, you essentially have to select each channel to see what’s playing. Overall w/o the AC issues, the other smaller things were annoying enough that I probably would try somewhere...

I am a Diamond member, loyal to the Hilton brand for many years. I have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Elkhart at least 10 times this year. Great staff, location, I overlook the need for a remodel. I calmly informed the front desk about the bug problem yesterday morning and was told I'd hear back from the manager. Unfortunately, I still have not. Room 310 I woke up to this, an infestation of ants crawling on my bed and arm from the night stand. Gross!!! To be clear, I travel for work and have stayed at hundreds of Hilton properties for the past 12 years and have NEVER had something like this happen. I guess I'll have to call Hilton corporate to make it right. Pondering if I should call the Health Department too. Not sure if they'll do anything, but it's concerning this was on the third floor...where else is there a bug problem/infestation in this building?
