Motel 6 Elkhart, IN — Hotel in Elkhart

So the staff is very friendly, polite and seem to be good people. They allow all of our pets with us, which is phenomenal. However...the down side, they key card lock on the back door was sketchy whether it would work or not, which took 5 minutes of trying before it finally gave the green light. Got to the room, and first appearance was clean, after shoving the door open from not fitting properly, bed was fairly comfortable considering it is a motel bed (I’ve slept on a lot worse throughout 27 years OTR). Sheets had a cigarette burn hole in a non smoking facility, towels were stained and dingy in appearance as were the pillow cases. There was less than half a roll of toilet paper (more like 1/4 roll) and with 1 ply and more than 1 person or an upset stomach, with no extra roll available, you’re pretty much sh!t out of luck there. No coffee maker, no breakfast or coffee available (thanks covid), ceiling shows large water stain in the shape of what could be construed as a body. Room was very dark, a lot of wasted space and in need of updating, tile on bathroom floor was loose but repairable. Heat/cool could be updated to better control temp instead of high heat/cool or low heat/cool so there’s an in between for people like me. The older drunk black man in the hall was somewhat of a bother in the morning but not a huge issue. Parking lot is rather dark on the sides, and a couple questionable times people driving by checking out vehicles but no issues. All in all not the worst place I’ve stayed but not the best for the...

The room had bugs the bathroom door was stapled together and I cut my arm and hand on the big sharp staples sticking out cockroachrs inside my shower curtain and supposedly clean towel,Biggest problem was with the the owners lack of care or concern when his maintenance man shot at my son right out in front of the front doors several other guests came out of their rooms to come down to tell the Night Lady working the desk that somebody was shooting outside the owner was immediately told and went and talked to the guy which happens to be the very maintenance guy that works on this place he employs the shooter when I asked for part of my stay money back he refused saying he didn't see it in his cameras weren't working out front so it wasn't real but I guarantee there's lots of guests at the Motel 6 in Elkhart Indiana that would say differently that there was shots fired right outside of the building which it was the front doors my son was in the truck seen it all and the owner did nothing including make things right with a frightened guest that was not happy with their stay should have got all my money back but I didn't get anything but his rudeness and he's still employing this maintenance man that shoots at guess so caution don't stay at the Motel 6 unless you want to be shot at by the help because the owner will do nothing but pretend like it didn't happen and keep paying the shooter to work for him so don't use Motel 6 in Elkhart Indiana very dangerous could be...

Door would not shut and stay ||shut without slamming it closed ||and even then, often it did not ||catch||2. Broken door safety lock||3. Human feces in the toilet||4. Human hair left in shower||5. VERY hot room.||6. Slow WiFi||7. EXTREMELY limited breakfast||8. Calcium clogged shower head||9. Pool was in VERY poor ||condition and from a discussion ||with a local delivery person, has ||been unusable for years.||11. Vending machine signage and ||no machines concerns, ||12. A large amount of pieces had ||been taken from inside the ||rooms and just left strewn ||around at the end of the ||hallways||13. The A/C units in the hallways, ||on second floor, were non-||functional||||Even with all of the above major from inside the rooms when I requested a room change, I was charged $10. It isn’t the money, it’s the principle. With all of the above issues, especially being were related to lack of facility maintenance and what I feel is just a lack of a sense an caring from management.||I am a rewards member and have accept a new job that will require my traveling a lot and until that stay, I have been pleased with condition.
