Amazing stay at Brisa Pacific Hotel! The rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the location is unbeatable and also just a short walk to the beach. Special shoutout to Shyam, the manager, who is incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. He truly made the experience exceptional. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Only negatives for this place was the lack of towels and the free breakfast is as basic as you can get, but that's easily avoidable if you bring your own towels and there's plenty of food around the area!! It's PET FRIENDLY.. SUPER PLUS!

Google Review (2 Stars):

My stay at this hotel was frustrating and disappointing. Upon checking in, I discovered that my showerhead was not working properly. I reported the issue on Saturday, explaining that I had been without a functioning shower head that was upside down and loose and spraying water everywhere-sincerely the previous day when I checked in, which was Friday. Unfortunately, the problem wasn’t addressed until Sunday, midway through the day, meaning I essentially went three days without a proper shower. Despite this major inconvenience, there was no offer of a partial refund or any compensation.

Additionally, I stayed in room 116, which was one of the noisiest hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. Being located on the first floor, it was right by the front door and staircase, with constant foot traffic from people going upstairs. On top of that, noise from the rooms above made restful sleep impossible. It was so frustrating that I left a day early, despite having already paid for the full stay.

When I inquired about switching rooms, I was told I would have to pay a different rate, with no clear guarantee of what kind of room I would get since I booked through a third-party app. For future guests, I highly recommend requesting a second-floor room on the back side of the hotel, away from the train tracks, as those seem to be the quieter options.

While the hotel has undergone some nice upgrades over the years, certain areas still need improvement. Given that it has been family-owned for many years, I was surprised by the lack of attentiveness to these issues. I was assured by an employee that the problem (shower head) would be taken care of, but unfortunately, that was not my experience.

On a positive note, it was finally fixed and yet I was not offered any compensation or anything to me. That’s bad business.

Across the street from this hotel is the most amazing organic farmers market every Sunday. You can get there in one minute because they’ve constructed a new underpass underneath the railroad tracks which is wonderful.

UPDATE 3/24/25 I was just charged the full amount for this stay 445.00—very disappointing. I've been a loyal guest at Brisa for years, and a quick look at my account will confirm that.

The response I received felt like generic fluff with no real accountability or effort to make things right. I expected better—especially from a team that’s seen me return time and again. Your front desk staff assured me my bill would be adjusted, and now I feel misled.

If any Brisa employee or owner were in my position—paying full price after being told otherwise—I doubt they'd simply accept it. Unfortunately, the lack of action here sends a message that 1- and 2-star reviews aren’t a concern to your team.

I was a little worried about staying at this hotel sight unseen as the reviews were all over the place (anything from dirty and under construction, to amazing accommodations). Well I was pleasantly surprised. The service was amazing. I'm not sure of the guys name at the front desk, but he was so helpful, letting us check in early and gave us some great ideas on restaurants and things in the area. The room was of course not some 5 star establishment. But it was clean and what I'd expect from a small cheaper neighborhood beach hotel. Two full beds (not queen!!), bathroom with a shower, enough storage. I did like that it was a laminate floor and there was not carpet on the floors as that is so gross at a beach hotel with all the water and sand. I will note if you care, there was not a hair dryer, but was an iron/board. The room was comfortable and quiet and there was air conditioning. We had a room over the parking lot which was fine, there was no noise and we had a pretty view. The back of the hotel has a view of the neighborhood. I will say that it did seem like the hotel was under renovation as several parking spots were full of construction items (wood, drywall, etc). There is limited parking and they give you a parking permit. There is a pool however we did not go in it but it look clean, there also appeared to be pool towels. Maid service was offered daily and that was a pleasant surprise as we've stayed elsewhere in California recently and they are still claiming Covid as an excuse to not clean the room. We got the sand cleaned up and fresh towels every day and I was thankful for that. The breakfast...the reviews were all over the place and I was pleased there was breakfast offered at all (people really are picky). It was like stale danishes, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and cookies, something like from the grocery store. They had coffee and orange juice. Breakfast was from 6-9am and my kids delighted in getting a snack. So for us it was a novelty. We stayed here as a family with two small children. It is in an absolutely ideal location with many restaurants and coffee shop within walking distance. Stonesteps Beach is a short walk away through the neighborhood. You could even walk to Moonlight Beach although a little farther. Tons to do in the area if driving as well. All in all I'd absolutely stay here again as most importantly it was clean and safe in an...

Never had a bad experience at a hotel like I did at Brisa Pacifica. I've stayed at cheap hotels before but this experience just about ruined our trip. BOOK ELSEWHERE! I mean it.

Turns out there's construction going on in the hotel. No warning at all. Our 2 year old was napping at noon on Sunday and the bathroom next door begins to be demolished with a sludge hammer. WACK WACK WACK! Over and over. My wife and I are in disbelief at the level of noise. I approached the front desk about it and the front desk clerk gets them to stop for us. Next morning: they begin working again at 745am! We couldn't believe it. Time to check out.

At check out I tell the very nice woman at the desk: "why would you book a room next door to a loud construction project? And book it to a family with two small kids?" I asked them to make it right and suggested waiving the pet fee ($25 dollars a night for two nights). But much but something to make us feel better enjoy the experience. She called the manager to ask. The manager denied my request. The manger said that they stopped the construction when I asked so they were not obligated to discount my stay.

I am blown away that they would charge full price for a room next to a loud remodel project. They should at the very least warn guests that there is a major remodel going on in the hotel. We would not have stayed here if we had known. The manager showed no empathy about the disturbance.

Other notes: first glance the hotel looks very shabby, especially the hallways. But the rooms are clean and the paint looks fresh. The front desk help is friendly. The breakfast is meager. The small pool is in the parking lot next to the road. Didn't feel like using it, not very attractive.

We regret staying here. Our usual big-name pet-friendly hotel...
