The Motel has undergone a significant remodel and the room we had was really nicely appointed. The bathroom was new, clean, modern and spacious. The Beds were extremely comfortable and the pillows were big, firm and not pancake like. But the kitchen... New everything! Fridge, oven, stove, microwave and coffee maker were awesome and we used them all. We even had a dishwasher and garbage disposal in the sink. Really well done you guys. We like to buy our own healthy groceries and cook all three meals at home. You made it fun and easy. The room we occupied is ground floor, however it does have one of the best views of the ocean at Moonlight Beach. We loved going out to the patio area, grilling up our swordfish steaks on one of the two gas grills available and having fantastic dinners with that view in the background. By way of areas to improve... we have just a few. The beds did not have heavy blankets or quilts but only one relatively thin cover blanket. We visited in mid February and the evenings were brisk. The window (glass or plexyglass), from the room out overseeing the ocean view was scuffed and scratched diminishing the view somewhat. We were hoping that management could switch the windows with a room not having our view- but time was not on our side.||Lastly, all the above issues were addressed by Jennifer, the clerk who checked us in. She was magnificent. She went and got us a cutting board, a can opener, paper towels and a real bed comforter. She is a doll and the management has a real asset in Jennifer. Loved it- we'll be back. (This is our...
Read moreThis place gets 1 star because of the location, otherwise it would get 0 stars. Based off of others reviews we were excited to try this place out. Now after staying there I’m thinking the reviews are fake. My family of 5 stayed five nights in a “suite” that supposedly fits 6 people but not sure how that is humanly possible. How do 6 people fit on 1 Queen and 2 Full beds? We had no extra seating in our “suite” besides one office chair so if we wanted to hang out in our “suite” we had to sit on our beds. The room was tiny, outdated and smelled horrible. We figured out that the horrible urine smell was coming from the wall AC unit that also had an extremely loud rattle that kept us up all night. After our second night of no sleep I spoke to a woman in the office about our frustrations and her response was “Well, you have to remember that this is a Motel and not a Hotel” (even though they charge hotel prices with a no-refund policy if you decide you want to leave early). After being told we would not receive a refund if we left early we toughed it out and finished our stay. My total for 5 nights was just over 2k and I didn’t want to spend any more $$ on another hotel. We learned our lesson with this place. My suggestion to all who read this is to find a different place to stay. The location might be great but it’s all WAY down...
Read moreWe needed a kitchenette, so our only choice was one of the rooms that face onto the courtyard. We chose the room at the south end for maximum peacefulness, and even though MBM has a policy that you cannot request a specific room, it worked out that that was what we got.||We love the Moonlight Beach Motel, and we have been staying there since the late 1980s. Although all the rooms were recently modernized, the place has not really lost any of its original charm. We normally eat 3 meals a day there, and the one thing I don't like is that the chairs that you have to use with the big table inside are in fact awkward swivel-style office chairs rather than normal dining chairs.||The current staff all seem very nice and helpful.||During this visit I bought the motel two more hummingbird feeders, for a current total of three, having bought them the first one last year. I trust they currently have all three feeders up and running now? In the old days MBM had three feeders and I always felt that seeing lots of hummingbirds was one facet of the appeal...
