Beachcomber of Manasota Key (North) — Hotel in Englewood

My stay at the Beachcomber could not have been more perfect. The unit has been newly renovated and is beautiful, comfortable and VERY clean. When I arrived, there was a goodie basket full of snacks and the fridge was stocked with ½ & ½ and a generous supply of bottled water, soft drinks and beer! I wasn’t expecting that and it was a really nice surprise. The photos on the website don’t do justice to how nice everything really is, including the grounds, which are like a mini-resort rather than a rental house. The furniture, linens and appliances are all really good quality, not cheap as is often the case in beach condos/motels. Very tasteful artwork, too. Carol is a friendly and gracious host who will stop at nothing to ensure that your stay is perfect in every way. The website says that the beach is 150 steps away. My stride must be long, because it was more like 130 steps. And with the free beach carts they provide, you don’t even have to carry your stuff if you don’t want to. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the "Gulf Breeze" unit. Perfect location, just steps away from the beach, a short bike ride from Stump's Pass state park, and easy walk down to restaurants. The property is just beautiful and has everything you could possibly need!

We don't recommend eating at the White Elephant Pub, although maybe just for drinks and music. The Sandbar Tiki & Grille had good food however. The only after 10pm place is Calico Jack's bar which has indoor smoking, huh. We rented a boat one day and explored the waterways, saw a manatee and lots of dolphin. Seashells, shark's teeth,...

Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations! From the accommodations, the amenities, the special gift basket, the beach access, the available recreational items (bikes, kayaks, beach chairs, umbrellas), it was all 5 star. Communication before, during, and after our stay was top notch. It gave me peace of mind knowing what to expect ahead of time as well as knowing that someone was available if we needed anything.
